Yaesu Handheld to Bose headset adapter

I love it. It's easy to use, has lots of features and it comes with alot of accessories. The lithium battery lasts a long time, and it also comes with a tray to use AAAs as backup. From the air reception is pretty good, but on the ground it can be iffy, but I think it depends on alot of factors...

Because of the unknown costs of it? There is no cutting in my plan, everything is a swap out.

    C120 Avionics Upgrades

I’ve been contemplating a 430 instead of the GTR200 and completely replacing the narco. But for $5k i don’t know if it’s giving me enough capability over the G5 w/GPS and ForeFlight.

    C120 Avionics Upgrades

Thanks George! Any photos of your panel? How did you wire the 225? Did you relocate the plugs? Or leave them in the panel?

Yaesu Handheld to Bose headset adapter

Makes sense. I have a Yaseau as well and have been contemplating how to best use it as a backup/ATIS radio. I think what you came up with is best.

    Help me shop

McMaster is the way to go. Especially if you have lots of other bolts to order. You can get packs of 100 stainless steel bolts in literally any configuration for cheap. Easy to build a little collection of spares. Shipping is always fast and reasonable as well.

    C120 Avionics Upgrades

I'm a new owner of a 1946 C120. I'll hopefully be doing an alternator conversion soon, and after that I'd like to do some avionics upgrades. I'm a new private pilot (115hrs TT, 50hrs TW). I'll be starting my IFR training soon (not in a huge rush at the moment) and it would be nice to do some of...

Yaesu Handheld to Bose headset adapter

Great solution, thanks for sharing. Edit: I do wonder if a standard 3.5mm aux cable would work though? Direct from the radio to the headset?

Student Pilot License held up because of Government shutdown?

FSDO will also be closed due to the shutdown. I would go with the recommendation of printing the temporary one. As long as the date on it is valid, it's as good as the green plastic. Mine took 6-7 weeks around this time last year.

    Non-TSO for Certified Aircraft

There are a few threads on the backcountry pilot forum about this. And there are several people there who have nicely re-done panels with "non-TSO'd" equipment. From what I understood, the distinguishing factor was often what was the original equipment on the aircraft and are you replacing it...

    Tailwheel endorsement, typical time

It took me about 8 hours. But I took a week long course where I eventually logged 25 hours. I was a brand new 45 hour private pilot at the time. I did mine in a kitfox as well, it's a very easy airplane to fly, and doesn't have very many bad habits. The fun is the the journey not the...

    Electrical System Troubleshooting Guide

We got a break in the rain so I ran to the airport and tried to repolarize the regulator, no spark and no change in the behavior with the engine on. So I may have permanently fried the voltage regulator. Does anyone think it’s worth taking to the auto electric shop to test?
