Finally got around to it this weekend. They both came out super easy, threads in the tank were clean and undamaged. I ended up having a CAV-160 on one side and a CAV-170 on the other. Loctite 592 worked great.

Anyone have any suggestions for cutting a hole? I have an access hole I need to open up the diameter by 1/4" or so, not sure if I want to use a dremel and make a mess.

Looking for a used set of 26" bushwheels. Prefer the newer & lighter 2.0 Airstreak but I'll consider any offers. Let me know what you have via PM. Thanks,

I'll look into it, thanks for the suggestion. I believe the C85/90 & O200 use a gear driven alternator while mine uses a belt driven, and I think that may be enough of a deviation to prevent being able to add it.

You are correct. I realized this when I got the new studs and the nut would only bolt to one side of it. Thankfully crisis averted. Thanks for posting, I should have mentioned that for future thread readers.

Only had to replace 2, the rest were serviceable.

Thanks Brit, I'll give it a try. Unfortunately I don't have access to AC power at the airport, but I think I should be able to go through the same process with a fully charged battery.

The only alternator conversion STC I've been able to find is one that specifically calls out the C85, C90 & O200 engines. My C120 has an O-290, so *I think* my only option is a field approval.

Unfortunately the only auto electric shop I could find in town didn't have his bench tester anymore. I'll have to see if I can adjust it myself, I think at least filing that point down will help.

Photos attached, configuration is a little different than the delco remy bulletin. Gap seems pretty big on that second one.

That's a nice unit, but for more than the garmin I'm not sure what it's getting me. And I don't want to ditch the NARCO completely because I use the VOR. The ADF on the other hand I'm happy to sell.
