5G: your phone and cell plan in 2022 and beyond

My guess is your phone is not really 4G(as in LTE). "G"s have a lot or marketing and confusion built in. And there are many different 4Gs out there. There is 4G(a few actual standards) and 4GLTE. LTE is the true 4G and is not getting shut down any time soon. 3G is being shut down everywhere...

As the price of gas at the pump skyrockets

Because unless you have a need for these extra vehicles, any gas savings will be blown away on the cost of getting and keeping the extra vehicle. Even a motorcycle, let alone a car.

As the price of gas at the pump skyrockets

isn’t that kind of anecdotal? I mean you don’t have to buy an ICE car with an average 25mpg either. Plenty do much better than that. Just because EVs you had in your hands did around 4, doesn’t make it average in a similar fashion, many ICE cars beat their EPA estimates as well.

True, but the "Wheels on the Bus"....

Apparently we have run out of things to argue about

Are you sure about that? Offices, right? All the chairs have wheels. Any equipment that is on the floor(copy, printer, etc) has wheels. Each is 4(or more often 4 pairs).

Apparently we have run out of things to argue about

based on how many toy cars/hot wheels I have at home, wheels win hands down. It's not even close

    USAA Driving App

I hate to tell you this, but very high probably that you already have a black box in your car. Just about every car sold in past 9 years has one and many had them well before that

    Dumb war question

Aka the lessons we did not learn from Soviets and British. Or Vietnam for that matter. My point was that this was always an asymmetrical war. We controlled where we had presence. We can't be everywhere. Or forever as you said Soviets actually had a pretty good success at controlling the...

    Dumb war question

Im not sure how you define defeat. The USSR never controlled the country as a whole. Neither did the USA. So arguably neither won in Afghanistan. If you don’t win, you lose. USSR did suffer a lot more loses significantly attributable to US involvement. Something USA did not have to deal with...

As the price of gas at the pump skyrockets

Your number aren't exactly that much "better". If you're going to be using averages, Tesla is not average. Average EV -- depending what you mean by average -- is around 3mi/kwh. Average cost of electricity now is over .15(and is going up) so that's about 5c/mile Not sure what average...

As the price of gas at the pump skyrockets

Not appreciably. It did happen back in 2008 a little, but went right back to being the pleasure activity soon after. MCs will always be mostly toys in USA. Primarily because you still have to have a car in most of USA. Savings are pretty minimal then. In practical terms you do not save...

Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio (minor thinking)

While 60deg V6 is perhaps most common, there are a lot of 90 degree V6s out there in the wild. As well as a few other angles. There have also been a few 60 degree V8s. They really are usually based on a V6 with cylinders added(and a bunch of other changes) or reverse of that.

So will Toyota Camry. Really doesn't mean anything.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio (minor thinking)

I considered Giulia QF a while ago. 3 issues: No manual, questionable reliability, poor dealer network with accompanying poor MX support(lack of trained technicians and long waits for parts) for QF. There was a dealer nearby. Now it's gone. While I think Giulia is one of the best looking...

the Turbo 182 is back in production

650K$ is certainly expensive, but I'm not sure it's overpriced. At least relative to both used and new plane market. New SR20 is about the same price. Arguably a turbo 182 is more of a plane than that. And used(especially from this century) 182s aren't exactly cheap either.

    Tablet recomendation

This. If she's an Apple user(and likes it), I would stick with iPad. No reason to try to figure out Android if she doesn't have to. Reverse is also true. If she doesn't have a smartphone, perhaps this is a better present :)

    Alice: Electric plane

I meant to say jet engines. The fuel will be replaced with something "sustainable". As you said, replacements already exist to an extend. As far as oil. No I don't think it's running out any time soon, but it is a finite product. If we get to a point of it really running out(or coming...
