    Special Issuance for OSA removed!!!

For the first time in my flying days I have a medical certificate totally clear of any restrictions. I've been self-grounded during my divorce but this is a HUGE weight off my shoulders. Looking forward to clearing my mind and getting back up soon. It can be done. :)

    New Blue Angels

I would have loved to see them in the F-4s. I can only imagine how loud 6 F-4s in full afterburners would be.

Passed Checkride!!! Now deciding between Renting DA40 G1000 or Cirrus SR20 G6

Meh, if you can afford a newish DA-40 or a G6 SR-20, paying for insurance and transition training shouldn't be an issue I would think. It's not a bad idea anyway particularly if you are a fresh PPL and have been training in a C172 or something similar. All things being equal, I prefer flying...

Skylane vs SR-20, reliability & maintenance

Unless he's comparing new 182Ts to the new SR-20 G6s. The new SR-20s are faster and have a greater useful load.

Who here plays a musical instrument?

The Euphonium and Baritone horns are similar in that they are valved, B-flat brass instruments but one is a conical and the other is a straight bore. The euphonium as a result has a mellower sound. Similar to the difference between a trumpet and a cornette.

Who here plays a musical instrument?

I consider my voice to be a musical instrument and I still sing professionally. And play piano very unprofessionally.

    I can't believe I spun a Cessna 172 twice! Now I'm checkride shy.

Lightly loaded, in cold weather, full power, you REALLY need to put in a lot of right rudder. Maybe try doing your departure stalls at 2300 RPM until you get the feeling back. The plane will bite a lot harder in the cold air. I know in HP planes, I typically do 75% power for power on stalls...

Do you use flight following when flying VFR?

"Do you use flight following when flying VFR?" Nope, I only use it when I'm IFR.

    Can a 430W do this?

Dial in the apt code as a waypoint and push OBS and turn the knob until it aligns to the runway heading. (at least that's how I'd do it)

Skycatcher - Good as first aircraft for raking up hours?

Symphony 160 is a good option for a capable certified 2 seater. That said, I love the skycatcher. It's a little twitchy in pitch and can be a challenging aircraft in gusty conditions but she's a blast to fly and will out-perform a 172 in a lot of ways. She burns 6gph on a 24 gallon tank. So...

AME advice for a kid with Aspergers syndrome?

Borderline Aspergers? Do they even diagnose Aspergers anymore? ASD stuff is so misunderstood. I would be interested to see how he was diagnosed.

    CFII before you CFI

It was a way to get out of FOI stuff, but I suppose the DPE could/should still hit the FOI on the CFII given that it is also the initial.
