I fly the CRJ-900. I have the contrail FL390 bag and it fits very nicely in flight case compartment on the side. Very nice bag to have, i've been very happy with it.
Edit: If you need something smaller, another popular choice is the luggage works "Stealth flight cube"
There was a fatal accident in Massachusetts (i think 2015?) where a bonanza lost an engine in IMC (it was low IFR below) and glided until it crashed into a house killing all 3 on board. The NTSB said there was a breach in the crankcase and 2 puncture holes near a cylinder and a fractured oil...
Friend that works there said the plane was on upwind in the pattern when it happened and the entire arrow fleet has been grounded. A wing just falling off is unreal. Very sad
I used Tamiami coming from Staniel Cay. I was expecting so much hassle but it was super convenient and the agents were extremely friendly. There was a Citation that took the entire ramp and so there were 7 of us holding short of the ramp waiting for it to move. They stayed after hours to...
I am looking for recommendations for a mechanic within 500 miles of DC to do an annual on my Piper Lance.
I've had terrible luck around northern virginia area and have been overcharged year after year.
I know everyone says they do pipers, but is there like that one guy who is well known for...
So the city takes your hangar and there's no maintenance facilities on the field? What a great place to keep a plane it sounds like.
So hagerstown and chesapeake is what people recommend? Do you rent a car once you drop the plane off? how do you get back?
Trying to help a friend who just bought a Piper Lance and is planning on keeping it at Manassas, Virginia. Can anyone recommend a mechanic there or around the DC area? And yes i've done the google search, doesn't seem like there's much to offer on the field. Looking for someone who is fair and...
Depends who you ask, but from my experience: lots of sitting, talking to pass the time, going out with the crew, and trying to make sense of why scheduling did what they just did
And yes, "living the dream" i'd say is pretty accurate
Only if ATC requests one or if theres something unexpected like icing or windshear. I dont mess with flight service, they're a pain to deal with in the air. If they want PIREPs they should make it easier - like allowing us to file in the air from our ipads
Another vote for the SR22...
If you really wanted a twin, maybe the DA42 with diesel (jet A is cheaper). Gets you a real weather radar in the nose too and fiki. And it has the FADEC and auto feather thing.
But if you're hauling a family around and can afford the cirrus, maybe a PA46? Get...
I dont know, I just put the thrust levers in the takeoff detent and say "set thrust". As someone mentioned above, we rarely use "max" thrust unless theres windshear or thunderstorms or the ACARS says to do so
I've found errors in the past with Aero, specifically with the tops of airspace or bottom of a bravo. I'm sure its been fixed by now, but I only use the FAA charts to stay legal
