Fatality Crash KHOU looks like a Cirrus

Correct but the kicker there is "reasonably flown". 3 occupants, who knows how much fuel but if she really cranked it hard and added some top rudder, there's a jump in load factor and a possible skid. The rest is self explanatory.

    Minnesota accelerated Instrument rating?

I think we all are wired differently, but for me, I know there is no way I could have done an accelerated program. Just too much stuff to digest. How someone can get it done in 2 weeks, with all the added stress of flying multiple times per day, is beyond me. Unless, these programs make you...

    Minnesota accelerated Instrument rating?

Yes Ron, that's why I said "not necessarily" and "can"(meaning possible but not a sure thing).

    Minnesota accelerated Instrument rating?

Not necessarily. An instrument rated safety pilot with experience can be just as good. And, they can pay for some of the fuel:) I do agree with you as it pertains to a simple PP in the right seat watching for traffic.

Fatality Crash KHOU looks like a Cirrus

I'm definitely not an aerodynamic expert but I've looked at my uncle's RVs up close(he had a 4 and now an 8) and they have rather fat wings compared to the Cirrus.. looks that way to me anyways. I flew the 4, rolled it, stalled it, pretty docile with no bad habits at all. Flew a lot more like...

Well It's certainly not a Super STOL. That should be obvious just by looking at it.

Pre buy recommendation in Central Wisconsin

I use EWP aircraft services, based at C35. Good guy, honest, picky, priced reasonable. Won't be afraid to tell you to walk if he finds a deal breaker. http://www.ewpaircraftservices.com/

    Calculating T/O Distance

If there are factors that make it even somewhat questionable(shorter than average runway, full gross weight, hot temperatures), I'll run the numbers. Otherwise I don't bother. For instance, it was 85 degrees this afternoon, but I was the only guy in the airplane, fuel to both tabs, and a...

    Smooth? More like common sense.

    Is it considerd owner MX!

    So is servicing wheel bearings.

    Is it considerd owner MX!

I'd say make a note or not. As mentioned, the way I see it... It's part of servicing the wheel bearings, just like you replace the cotter keys with new ones when you put the wheel back on the axle.

Fatality Crash KHOU looks like a Cirrus

I do understand what you are saying and agree with you there... It sort of reminds me of that AOPA case study video where the guy lost his vacuum system in a Cherokee, made it to VFR or there were VFR conditions nearby(I can't remember which), but he tried to shoot an approach 2 more times in...

Looks like your dues are flying to Key West!

No, you're insinuating. What, I dont' know, but you are. And now that it's apparent you don't have any real substance, you are claiming that was all you meant to say. Pretty easy to see through.

Fatality Crash KHOU looks like a Cirrus

And the controller was very accommodating and really tried to help. This wasn't a multiple missed approaches in IMC situation, nor was an emergency declared, it was windy, and she didn't get lined up a few times. That's not a reason to turn the airport around or vector and hold a bunch of...

Do you correct a tower controller ?

Much ado about nothing. Sounds like the guy in the tower made a mistake, but we as pilots make them too. If I called the tower or approach control every time they made a mistake, I would be on the phone every third flight. Conversely, they could give me a phone number to call on a regular...
