    IR checkride question: clock

And that, boys and girls, is how I became a pilot.

    Vision Jet autoland

If you read the write up ;), it says there is a disconnect button on the pilot's yoke if a passenger "inadvertently" engages it.

    Pranks

About a year ago, I typed my daughters birthday into her phone and *bingo* it unlocks. So, I lay in wait until April Fools Day. Early that morning I sneak into her room and grab her phone and change the passcode to: 190401 (and also disable fingerprints). I then set a series of alarms to ring...

    Captain Bryan's Checkride Advice

I've found, for the oral, a good offense works. Just keep drilling him with zingers. If the DPE never has a chance to ask his own questions, how can you fail? If he does happen to get a question in, just respond "How can you not know this???"

    Tax implications of airplane ownership

This is probably obvious, but a CPA isn’t the right resource for matters of liability. I’m guessing an attorney’s conclusion to asset protection would be “maybe”

Garmin 430W, what databases do I need?

Rob is right. You don't need both. The 430 has two cards - one for Nav data and one for terrain data (the cards cannot be interchanged). Garmin provides the terrain data. Once upon a time, only Jeppesen provided the nav data. Then a couple of years ago, Garmin got into the nav data business...

Garmin 430W, what databases do I need?

Are you flying IFR with GPS approaches? If so, you need the subscription. You'll also need a special card programmer for the NAV databases -- and the Jeppesen one is different from the Garmin one.

Piper Aztec vs. C210 vs. Cherokee 6 vs. Lance/Saratoga

As I mentioned above, we see 155+ at 15 gph but that may be due to to the speed mods we have (flap seals, etc but standard cowl)

So, homebuilders...who are we and where do we stand?

Piper Aztec vs. C210 vs. Cherokee 6 vs. Lance/Saratoga

1976 NA Lance 155TAS 15 gph Maintenance is a bit of a sore subject as we’re currently buying a factory reman engine to replace our 2300 hour engine. Insurance is $3200
