FDA issues full approval for Pfizer COVID vaccine - does that change any opinions?

I've been amused by those who cited lack of full approval as a reason not to vax, but then advocated hydrochloraquine, horse dewormer, etc. as cures.

Cataracts - Vivity or Eyhance intraocular lenses

I don't know anything about those two brands/types of lenses, but having just had cataract surgery on both eyes, I'll throw in my 2 cents. Before my initial consultation with the cataract surgeon (but knowing I was almost certain to need both eyes done), I talked to a number of friends who'd...

    Questions for the Ronafide.

FWIW, I also have a daughter who is an RN at a major hospital, and another who is an epidemiologist at CDC. They know way more than I do about Covid (and from different perspectives), and they both tell me in no uncertain terms to get vaccinated, every chance I get. So I listen to them.

    airplane as an investment..different take

Probably wouldn't have worked so well in Afghanistan, but the bugout potential is one of my justifications for owning a motor home.

    Dale Snodgrass crash in Idaho

I didn't know Snort, but have tremendous respect for his service, both to the military and to the aviation community. And in that light, I can only think that he would understand and appreciate the thoughtful analysis of the possible causes of this tragedy by pilots here and elsewhere, to...

In your opinion, Will I be required to enter a "Monitoring Program"?

Folks much wiser than I will opine on the medical questions. But just my opinion ... if you regularly drink 2-3 beers a day -- every day -- you might want to give yourself an intervention. That sounds like low-grade alcoholism to me. How about going a while (at least a week or so) without...

    TSA delays......

Wow. Criticize the current performance of TSA all you want (and I agree), even say that it is worse than what we had before. But the statement above is rather famously false.

    TSA delays......

Let's not forget why we have it. And the answer isn't "government overreach," at least not to me.

    Blacking out in steep turn

To this layman, sounds like orthostatic hypotension. But the docs can obviously speak to that or other possibilities.

    7-4 Bonanza down near Aspen

I had the same thought about visualizing during flight planning, but I was thinking could you use MS Flight Sim (or similar) for that? I know MSFS doesn't get much love on here, but it seems like you could easily preview a flight with it.

New to PoA; Tips for first passenger?

Reminds me of my first flight after getting my Private long ago. I took up my first passenger, a woman I was dating at the time, trying of course to impress her. After training almost exclusively in calm conditions and sunny weather over the course of a year (Arizona), this day featured an...

Many thanks to all who responded. I think you've convinced me to stick with sport pilot, at least for now. I'm hoping to have my second cataract surgery next month, then start up fresh with my "new eyes." See you in the sky!

    Thinking about a Bus/RV

Actually, we no longer have to worry about that particular issue. We downsized a couple of years ago to a Coach House "class B+" (think class C, but without the front overhang). It's just the two of us and a small dog, so we don't really need the big bus any more (well, never really did, but...

    Thinking about a Bus/RV

Yeah, I think rear rads are typically direct drive off the serpentine belt. I agree on preference for the rear mount (since it saves a storage bay), until you throw a belt. We were actually able to climb into the engine bay to replace alternator and belt with my side radiator (2008 Mandalay on...

    Thinking about a Bus/RV

Ted, I'm late to the party here, and too lazy to read all 25 pages of this thread, but I'll add a comment about your engine cooling concerns. If you know all this, or it's been covered already, please ignore. Do you have a rear or side radiator? I've had 2 diesel pushers, one of each type...

"Nevertheless, the submittal to the FAA was about 400 pages. The dermatology records alone were 170 pages for a few squamous cell carcinomas." Wow, just ... wow. Not giving up just yet, but Sport Pilot is looking better all the time.

Thanks, all -- and especially the Docs. Sounds like my "uncomplicated" list is more so than I wanted to think. So the next question is, can anyone recommend a good AME in my part of the country? I'm in Delaware, but the Baltimore/Washington area is in easy reach.
