Anyone know what's going on with Spirit?

Most carriers managed to keep a good portion of the pilots, after all, no pilots means no planes flying. They did that by butchering the back offices, and the stations. The contracted employees don’t work for Spirit, and are tired of actually getting beaten for Spirit’s operational failures...

Anyone know what's going on with Spirit?

Spirit has plenty of crews, that isn’t the issue. Simply put, What they don’t have is enough back office staff to deal with a large Irregular Operation (IROP), (weather, mechanicals, etc.), since they cut HQ to the bone, and haven’t been able to hire and train enough at their low pay rates to...

    Memorable Resturants on/near field

Kentucky Dam, Lake Barkley Resort, and Rough River Lodge are all Kentucky State Parks with state-maintained runways. Call the lodges, and they will send the van to pick you up for the lodge restaurant. Check the hours, some have reduced days due to “recent events”.

“Fusion” opens this weekend at the London-Corbin Kentucky Airport. In the space that was occupied by “The Hangar” that closed in 2017(?). Might make a run up there next weekend.

I34-Greensburg, In…. Parkside Ice Cream Shop and mini-golf is about a 200 foot walk from the ramp. Bowling alley right next door, City pool and water park next to that, and the county fairgrounds are across the street. This one is a hidden gem, a great stop with kids!

    OSH 2021

Was leaving Thursday morning anyway, so I’ve decided to depart at noon, putting me out ahead of the 3pm wave of storms. No sense in screwing around when I was already on a tight departure schedule anyway. will miss the HOPS/HOPIS/HOPELESS party though. Damn…. You all enjoy it tonight.

Slept right through most of it, except for the gusts that had the camper rocking. Sun really knocked me out on Monday.

Was that attempt number 7? or 10? Airboss ragged on them because they were drifting too close to the show box.

    <NA><RANT> Car stealership </RANT></NA>

Lol… Went looking for a new truck a couple of weeks ago, of the two available, one as 20k over list, the other 30k. They had just arrived, and three of us were looking at the same tie. No thanks, I’ll wait.

The minimum fuel that you can visually verify in mine is ten gallons. Never leave home without at least that much.
