UFO? UAP? What are your tax dollars finding out?

It is all BS and fearmongering. Perhaps another way of extracting money from tax payers.

Let's talk about electric fuel pumps

Wow, that is remarkably similar to the S.U. pumps used on many British cars 1920s-1970s. I grew to despise them because I had to replace the points quite often on the unit in my 1960 SAAB. Like post #3 said, whacking them temporarily fixes them. Finally, my uncle gave me an NOS 6V unit which...

    B&C Starter Balking

Why even have a starter contactor when the starter has an on board solenoid? Seems redundant and an additional failure point.

    What not efi like cars

The EFI on road vehicles does not adjust fuel mixture on each cylinder. To do so would require each cylinder to have its own oxygen sensor. Cost accountants would not like this! The typical inline four has only one sensor. V type engines have two, one for each bank. Note I am not counting...

    Paint colors and safety

FAA's recommendations for obstructions (AC No: 70/7460-1L): 3.2 Paint Colors. Alternate sections of aviation orange and white paint should be used as the contrast in colors provides maximum visibility of an obstruction.

The machines are coming for our jobs

That will not work any more. Since 1991 the nanny state has required hair dryers to have GFCI.

    Oily Bottom Plug

You might want to check if you have the hottest acceptable plugs. Many engines allow either a #38 or #40; the latter is hotter and more likely to burn oil off. Also a #37BY, while colder on paper, has a projected nose and is less likely to foul.

Very small engines - a practical thread

Five gallons of gas is about 30lbs. A normal four stroke engine uses about 0.5lbs/hp-hr so 5 gallons will get you 60hp-hrs of energy. Charging a cell phone uses a few kW-hrs per year according to these guys...

    Tach and hobbs

Tach "time" is not really time, it is counting the number of revolutions of the engine but displaying it as "hours" for convenience. At some high rpm e.g. 2500 the tach "time" is fairly accurate. Especially during training, the average rpm is quite a bit lower than 2500 and so the tach under...

    Dear auto manufacturers.....[rant]

On most modern vehicles the chimes are all built into the radio/sound system. You would need to change the software to disable the chimes while leaving the radio function operating.

    Jumper Cables with thin prongs/clips?

OP, they used to make jumper cables which fit the despised side terminal batteries that GM used from the 1970s thru early 2000s and that is probably what you are thinking of. Not much demand for these any more. However you can get some adapters...

    N/A Automotive Batteries N/A

If you like Diehard, they are still available from several suppliers including the ubiquitous Advance Auto Parts. Several years ago, I went to a Sears warehouse to pick up a new Diehard for my wife's car. When I got there, I was amazed to see scores of old (and presumably dead) Diehards lying...

    Magnetos

Do you have any evidence of this? Everything I have read says that both airplanes and cars have alternators geared at around 3:1, i.e. the alternator turns at three times crankshaft speed. Here is an excerpt from an article on aircraft: The face gear turns at the same RPM as your crankshaft...

    Digital TV antennae cable question:

A good site for antenna selection is: https://www.antennaweb.org/ I'll second the advice to look at "Antenna Man" on You Tube. He also offers a service to pick the antenna for your address. I presume there is a charge for this. Don't pay any extra for a "digital" antenna; that is just...
