I've landed on a taxiway, but it wasn't NOTAM'ed closed. The runways were all open too.

Ever had a full primary GPS/Nav/Comm failure?

Yes, the 750 is connected to the G5s and the 355 is on the 106B CDI.

Ever had a full primary GPS/Nav/Comm failure?

I would guess your GTN is setup like mine is. My 750 controls my remote auto panel. If I pull the breaker for the 750 the auto panel defaults to com 2. I've tested it before and it works as it should. A few months ago I finally upgraded my old com 2 (kx170) to a GNC 355. I was back and forth...

    Clock for IFR

I had a AV20s installed a couple months ago and I love it! The clock / timer functions are nice and easy to use. The AOA function works great too. It gives you a lot of information for the price.

What's going on with these clouds?

I’m not arguing what your saying but, Your using data from over 100 miles away and 4 hours later. Does that typically hold true in MT?

What's going on with these clouds?

This is true. But in this case the air is being forced up by Topographic Lifting. Then it quickly falls back down the other side of the hill. I'm not a meteorologist at all, but I do like reading about weather.

What's going on with these clouds?

Cloud Development - Topographic Lifting • Simply, air is forced up and over a topographical barrier - such as a hill or mountain • The windward side will be cloudy and wet as air ascends • The leeward side will be warmer and drier as the air descends - often called a rain shadow

Left turns..is that a good idea?

If everyone would just drive on the left side of the road like in the UK, then left turns would be much safer! simple fix..

Upgrade options for an IFR clock?

I replaced my flakey clock with a uAvionix AV20S about a month ago. So far I like it a lot! Its a bit of a novelty, but still pretty useful. The AOA function is pretty dang accurate and the timers / clocks are nice too.

    Strange Approach into KELP

Complete speculation, but looking at Flightaware he might have been a little fast and needed some time to slow the plane down a bit.

what are you hearing re: Garmin lead times now (Aug 1)?

I just had a GNC 355 installed a couple weeks ago. My lead time was over 6 months for the parts, then I waited another 5 months for the shop to get me in.

Getting home from Oshkosh - the long way round

That sucks! I hope they get it fixed quickly for you.. Is it just me? Seems a lot of mechanical issues with P32s on this board lately. I realize this is not a fair assumption, just seems that way lately.

    Instant Replay (ATC Audio/Tx)

I’ve got it, but I’ve never used it. I’m not even sure how to use it. I probably should figure it out.

the "not worthy of it's own thread" thread

before this install I didn’t have it. They added the probe when they did the GNC355 and AV20s. But yes, it’s all on the G5s now. They added the GAD13 and Davtron probe. Pretty cool!
