    Air-to-Air Piper PA-12 Seaplane - Promark Aviation

Very nice photos. It looks like you all had a great time! I love PA-12s, learned to fly in one as a matter of fact. That one looks like an exceptional example.

    Possible move to ABQ

Look around in Rio Rancho. It is northwest of the city with some nice neighborhoods. Pretty much anything north of the city itself and west of the Pat D'Arco Highway are okay. My Sister and Nephew live there.

Why would a CFI not declare in this situation?

I don't believe I would have declared an emergency, because at this point there really isn't one. However, I would absolutely have let ATC know there was a problem and the nature of the problem. Using the words "precautionary landing" would have gone a long way toward getting on the ground as...

    IFR written test scores?

Back when the FAA gave the exams and they were free, guys would take the test without bothering to study for it. If they passed all was well, if not they knew what to study for the retake.

    Boeing 787-8 Specs

The flex in flight could very well be 10-12 feet, though a little more at takeoff. They told us in B-777 school that it's wing flexes 21' at takeoff. All modern jetliners have high and low speed ailerons, typically the low speed (outboard) ailerons lock out above a certain speed or...

    Another Pandoria's box

That sounds like the same thing we found with the O-470 in my C-180. The overhaul is nearly done now so hopefully we will be flying again soon.

Do these make good first twins

I remember many years ago Richard Collins (of Flying Magazine) writing about twins, that if you can't afford it new then you probably can't afford it used either. There is no doubt some truth in that.
