Where are you located? We have a 235 with a fixed pitch prop. I can’t speak to how it compares to one with a CS prop, but if you’re close to me I’d be glad to show your ours.

Unless something has changed since 2017, it's not hard to do. I got it once during my ppl training just to see how it worked, but it wasn't a requirement

Understand why you're conflicted, but no you shouldn't feel bad about it. The guy either had bad intentions or has a bad sense of humor. It's not your job to read his mind and figure out which way he meant it, it's your job to protect your family.

Did all my private training in a 150f. No complaints other than wishing I had a smaller instructor lol. We flew it into Wilgrove in Charlotte during the summer and the trees at the end of that runway got a LOT closer than I was expecting lol
