There are several good options at $50 or less.... See my above post. I always find smokin deals. Just gotta have cash the day those deals post and not drag around weeks trying to get a prebuy etc. We just bought a super nice 182 for $45,000... Its worth more than double.

You can get a nice Bellanca Super Viking for $50 and cruise 185 mph.... I can't believe I am the first to mention this plane for your price range.

That is not the internal memory battery. Those are the AA's the unit runs off of..... The memory battery is kinda like a watch battery inside the unit soldered to the circuit board.

Yes... You have to take the unit apart. I still use a 196 also in my J-3. I love that it runs off AA batteries and I like the pointer. The 296,396 and 496 don't have the pointer arrow. I always have my airport set in and never refesh the map or draw a new line. I just follow the arrow :-)

If you have a question mark your internal battery is dead. It can't find itself. Leave it on until it does find itself. They work ok with a dead internal battery if you turn it on the same place you turned it off the last time. It could also be a bad antenna but I say its the internal...

Call the insurance company and ask.....

They are all like new... Mainly display/demo models. Yes they have new earseals, muff and come with carry case. I send a PayPal invoice to buyers.... My phone number is in the top add. I am sold out now but have a waiting list. My inventory lately has been going in less than 24 hours.

Because they didn't sell enough of them.....

When I was up for my very first solo flight the battery was dead because the generator went out. I got in my 172 and my buddy hand propped it so I could do my first sold. My young flight instructor thought we were crazy..

I have never lost GPS signal with my phone or ipad with the built in GPS. My buddy was being cheap and dumb and bought the WIFI only ipad and a bad Elf. He always lost GPS signal....
