    Never Ever Ever Again

Agree, and its not just cubs obviously. Lots of gliders and ultralights and champs and .... Fly a traffic pattern, make good radio calls and look outside a lot.

    Never Ever Ever Again

You need a headset, yes. I'd suggest that a good handheld is way more than 50% reliable in the traffic pattern at an airport. You just need the antenna mounted where it has good LOS. I flew a glider for years with power source other than a 12V battery and a King comm radio in the panel. If...

New PC12 Ditched Halfway to Hawaii

"was substantially damaged when it was ditched in the Pacific Ocean about 1000 miles east of Hilo, Hawaii" Substantially damaged? LOL. Destroyed I'd say.

    Never Ever Ever Again

Nordo cubs are a menace ;) I'll add to my rant-in-form-of-a-question. "Can anyone offer a 'good' reason to fly Nordo these days? Not even with a handheld?"

    Never Ever Ever Again

Can someone offer a 'good' reason for a straight in at a non-towered airport? Other than a practice IAP?

    Cheap Annual

Folks that strap themselves to poorly maintained sh*tboxes and fly around like the consequences are inconsequential are truly baffling to me. And yet it happens all over the place. To me, aviation is an exercise in risk mitigation in order to extract the benefits with the lowest cost in terms...

I think we just suggested that pilot with 50k go buy a B-36? :D

That's why I called it a warning sign, not a conclusion :) I'll leave it to the OP to decide which. Yup, says me, the guy that experienced this first hand.

6 place single engine piston fixed gear

Yes!, but please do so carefully. This machine will cost you a lot more than you think it will to own and maintain. Having a $50k budget to buy is a warning sign that your first Mx event will put you in financial strain, and we'd all hate to have that happen. If someone said to me hey I have...

Agreed on all points. 50k makes a nice buy in for a partnership though!

Oh lord, if someone is limited to 50k purchase price, I'm fully suspecting that a twin is not a wise option...

    No Lead Aviation Fuel

Fixing this problem requires investment, which GA doesn't get anymore. The other way is government regulation, and that will further increase the price.

I’ll personally add Loudenslager to that list. Chuck’s book Yeager is a great read for any of you that might have missed it.

Garmin pilot AHARS not showing correct pitch and roll

Our 345 is notorious for a bad AHRS. Apparently is is a prevalent issue with them. I've stopped trying to use that feature of it.

    How to Not Quit?

A really great CFI once told me, "You are only ever minorly inconvenienced in aviation. If you let yourself feel majorly inconvenienced, you are about to die." I think that principle applies here.
