I love my Apple Watch (7) for many reasons, O2 measurement in plane is not one of them! I tried dozens of times but only succeeded once! any slight vibration means it starts its 'I need 15 seconds' again. Sort of impossible in a Cherokee. I revert to the fingertip thing on every flight. Oh well.

I put in a cgr30P and very pleased. It is indeed locked by the factory, but you can send it back in the future and they will reconfigure (or add features) for approx $400. Their support has been excellent.

The additional situation awareness is wonderful - I use FlyQ, no extra charge.

same o360 A4a as OP; high 50's during taxi/idle - mid to high 70's in cruise. All normal. I think 'we' notice it more now that most (?) have some sort of digital engine monitor, previously, ignorance was less stressful!
