Got a chuckle out of this thread after my car just drove me (with no interventions) from my house to the turn off to the parking lot. 1 hour 45 minutes. Morning drive, Hudson Valley to Newark, NJ. But yeah, it’s not for everyone. I probably pay more attention when it’s on than when driving manually.

The unit I use from Sportys costs $170 and the monitor needs to be replaced every 2 years according to the Sportys description. (Tocsin 3) The Delta Zulu will be replacing that sensor which I never did find a good spot for in the cockpit and often left at home or forgot to turn on.

I’ve seen it fly last year. Currently they are recovering the airplane now. But they have a Taube replica and a Bristol F.2 that’s new to the collection this year.

I flew to the Luscombe fly-in in 1989 from Crest Airpark (S36) to Columbia in N71808. Won the hard luck trophy and the youngest pilot award. 110 Luscombe that year. How many were there this year? I’d love to go back.

I asked a very knowledgeable Lycoming representative at Oshkosh last year what they recommend at 65% on an O-360. “Peak EGT.” He said. Essentially, run what you want at 65%. I’ve been leaning to rough and then just slightly rich of that and getting 6.5 - 7 gph when not in a hurry.
