Post Office slow down is real

That seems like an easier problem to fix than the Post Office. Especially once StarLink is operational in a few months.

    [rant]Why can't Apple[/rant]

My company writes multi-platform photo management software, and both Apple's and Microsoft's HEIC/HEVC orientation is a huge pain. Not only do they frequently report the wrong values, they change it 2 or 3 times per year and change where it's stored. Even more painful, Apple stores still...

    Life-Changing Bands (or Songs)

3 steps. Sort-of. Gwar -> The Rocky Horror Show -> Jesus Christ SuperStar -> Karen Carpenter Strangely to go from "Karen Carpenter" to "The Carpenters" require another 3 steps: Karen Carpenter -> Carpenter -> ABBA -> The Carpenters

    Interetation please

It doesn't say prior to the time of flight though. It says prior to the month of flight. If I ask "how many months have passed in this year prior to this month", are you answering 8 or 9?

    Interetation please

Mmm. The other uses of "within" in 61.57 is: "within the preceding 90 days" "within the preceding 6 months prior to the month of flight" "within the preceding 12 months prior to the month of flight" And then you have these two: "within the 4 calendar months preceding the month of the flight"...

[N/A] Home Renovation: “The Rise of Absurd Quotes”

No kidding. I got in a contractor/handy-man in January to do a whole bunch of odd jobs around the house. Showed him a list of around $50k of work with pictures etc. He looks at it and says: “I don’t want to do such a large quote. Get someone else to quote it and I’ll beat them by 10%”. Told...

    Weather Station Using PC Monitor

I have a Tempest Weather Station as well. It's cool and all and I like the API, but it doesn't detect 95% of our rain - it's too light (Seattle). It needs to "hear" the rain on the top and you can't even hear most of our rain if you're in a tent directly in it.

    Know anyone with Coronavirus?

False positives on a PCR text is extremely rare. It’s more likely he had it and they caught it at the trail end. (Or someone screwed up ID). False negatives on a PCR though Is very common - up to 25%. False positives on a Ig (anti-body) however is common-ish (1 to 2%).

    Vintage / Retro Computing

My first computer. Portable! Well... Transportable. It was fairly expensive at that time and my mom and dad really struggled to buy it. But it was the best gift ever and I couldn't appreciate it more. I learned to program on it since there wasn't really much else you could do on it (apart...
