    Mooney has it:

    Liability Only Insurance

If no insurance, do you really walk away? If you damage others property you will be responsible for that? Even if you don’t, don’t you have pick up the recovery costs?

    Opinion on Plane Purchase

That applies to almost everyone on POA, whether your plane has fancy avionics or not, small GA planes (and boats) are the ultimate luxury items.

    KFC-200 vs Stec 50

Stec can’t fly approaches, only has altitude hold.

Anybody train at SkyBlue Flight Academy in WPB Florida? South FL/Treasure coast options

The Stuart flight school (TCFT) is a big operation, about 20 instructors, no accidents, it’s a busier airport and class D. Unlike Fort Pierce, it doesn’t have a separate runway for training so sometimes you will get “the pattern is full” if you want to do T&Gs.

    Autopilot comparison chart

You’d free up a lot more mental cpu if you didn’t have to be concerned about heading, altitude or trim.

    Autopilot comparison chart

I always thought either I fly the plane or autopilot does, 1 axis and or no auto trim violates this guideline. If using this plane for IFR and it already has a Garmin GPS , I’d go with the GFC 500.

    G5 Install question

My GMU is in the tail, but I had another magnetometer it was replacing, don’t forget to keep it away from the autopilot servos.

Aera 660, view full size approach plates

There’s a 4 arrow icon that makes it full screen, of course the screen is still smaller than the mini ipad.

I think it's time to quit Hertz

About 10 years ago, Enterprise told me no one way rentals. I guess they changed their policy.

Hertz allows one way rentals, any others do that?

    Garmin Database update

Beechtalk has a thread on this, generally the fix is format the card, uninstall/install the application, and calling Garmin, or a combination of all 3.

And they did continue to enjoy it….for another 4 years. ;-)

    Custom Checklist

A bit of a thread shift, but is this really a problem? If you fly alone you’re unbalancing the aircraft, I know you’re not far from centerline but still some pilots are rather heavy. In my Mooney there’s no discernible difference when I burn down one tank, then the other.

    Custom Checklist

This is why I hate some checklists. Why not just leave the fuel selector to both the entire flight? Flaps 0-40°? Is there a 50° setting? Setting elevator trim, do you really need that to be a checklist item? If it’s out of trim I would expect a pilot to figure it out on their own. You need...

    Airports with a Hotel...

You can use airnav.com, select hotel tab, enter airport code and it gives hotels and its distance from airport. Using sectional, pick airports in a congested area (yellow) or is by an interstate as candidates.

Cherokee down in West Palm Beach

I’ve never heard of wing structure/attachment failing in level flight, have you? Not saying it can’t happen but it would be a rare failure.

Cherokee down in West Palm Beach

The thing is the ADSB doesn’t show the go around, looks like it lost contact at ~500ft, so I can’t see how you can stress an aircraft at such a low altitude, not enough to get up to speed.

    Used GA aircraft Prices

The seller would tell you; TBO is not mandatory, I’ve treated the engine well it might last another 1000 hours, and no, a 50% offer will usually get emphatically rejected (no counter offer).
