Tracking Centerline On Visual Approach - Conflicting Methods

Let him know you're continuing to practice what your instructor is telling you what to do so you can establish the habits necessary to satisfy your instructor and pass the check ride. The instructor probably knows what the local DPE wants. Later in your career and you're actually PIC, tell him...

    Missing aviation niche app/tool?

I think the word you're looking for is "strategic"; planning what to do/where to go amongst a plethora of choices. Some of the route planning tools are good, but you can only do one at a time. If I could present several choices and I could look them over to decide which works best. Maybe even...

Meeting the Maryland State Police Pilot

Chesapeake Sport Pilot at Bay Bridge Airport (W29) had a event yesterday where we teach kids about aviation in the morning then take them flying in the afternoon. One of the stations in the morning was careers in aviation, and seeing as we were hosting several Girl Scout troops, they had a lady...

First ever Airventure. What's better, first two days or last two days.

Maybe they ought to segment the show to "interest" areas; maybe different days for military aviation events, commercial aviation, general aviation, etc., and even do the same for the seminars. Idea is to spread out arrivals and departures. I'd still stay for much of the show anyhow, but folks...

First ever Airventure. What's better, first two days or last two days.

Monday and Tuesday are the best two days for the show. Most everything is there and people are still full of energy. The weekend before the show is great for the anticipation, watching arrivals, walking up and down the rows looking at planes, going out to eat with friends, and figuring out where...

Planning a trip to Airventure 2022

Set my tent up. Parked car next to it. Drove car to a restaurant. Came back, kind folks next to me said, "Be sure to mark where you parked your car, someone tried to set their tent up there." They used some of their yellow rope to mark off my spot for me while I was gone.

At what distance does it become economical...?

We love going over to 26N (Ocean City, NJ) from W29 (Bay Bridge) and do the 10 minute walk over to the beach. Driving would take forever and it's even better to look down and see the traffic jams.
