I dunno. I've flown Tecnam Eaglet, CTLS, Tecnam Sierra, Remos GX, and RV-12. All sipped gas. They were all a hoot to fly, especially the Sierra and the RV-12.

I got to camp one year in Vintage near the barn and silo. It is nice and close to everything. Also right near a tent where musicians gathered and had impromptu musical sessions, which was kinda cool. Walked down to the restaurant (Tall Pines?) by the ultralight field that had good breakfasts.

The time from a satellite airport (Appleton, Fond Du Lac) via a shuttle is about an hour one way and they're not free. Oshkosh is way bigger than it was 20 years ago.

Probably would work if you have one thing you want to see, e.g., the air show, check out a particular vendor, visit the warbirds, etc.

I have family up in North Central Wisconsin, around Merrill. It is beautiful up there. Head up past Tomahawk and it gets even prettier. Lots of fishing, hiking, boating, great food and beer.
