Good to hear. The PFD looks like a mini EFIS.

I think the G5 HSI with battery backup is a great piece to have in a full electrical power loss. You would still have a nice readable attitude indicator with airpreed and altitude. The heading may be off, but a handheld GPS/ipad could give you your position and course.

I now have a start date of 1/15 for a GTN-650, GTX-345 and G5 HSI package. I hope the G5 HSI Flight Instrument can be used in PFD mode in addition to HSI mode. The PFD mode looks more useful to me.

Good, I hope I hear her voice too! I moved mine from the pilot side to the co-pilot side. I don't like it in my line sight when flying. Hearing her voice will perk me up to look at the display. :-)

I just installed the new used one in the airplane and noticed the new one makes a buzzing sound. Is this normal? I never noticed this sound on the last one. I have not flight tested yet. The display controls seem to work correctly.

I agree, your alternator is not charging the battery. You are running on the battery alone. Check the wiring and connections from the alternator to the battery. If connections are good, then check the voltage at the output of the alternator...it should be 13.5+ when running.
