    The Eyes Jim, The Eyes!

There is one other part of the Class 2 vision beyond simply the 20/20 at the three required distances: (I may get the name wrong) optical fusion. Essentially do your eyes work together as "fused" vision. They test this (in my experience) with a machine where thay ask which letter the line passes...

Daughter wants a fun car, dad wants something more practical.

I at least skimmed the whole thread here. I may have missed it but was it the Mazda 3 your daughter rejected on looks? Between my two daughters we've owned 3 and they are very fun to drive and reliable. If you can convince her to get a manual, even better. I couldn't convince either of mine to...

    Makes sense. Thanks.

    Amphib float landing gear

For those with actual amphibious float plane experience (not seaplane), I have a question: Since there are two wheels (front and rear) on each float, how does it handle on the ground? Like a tricycle gear or like a tailwheel (aka conventional) gear plane? I'm curious since there isn't an obvious...

    Shortest Cross Country

My shortest was KLAL to KBOW. 12.3. So not very short from these numbers. I also flew X04 (Orlando Apopka) to KORL (Orlando Executive), 16nm, several times during one of my instrument training rounds as the fuel at X04 was much cheaper than the fuel at KORL and the club owner/chief instructor...

Is it legal to accept payment for training if you don't sign a log book?

Unfortunately, knowing software engineers as I do, it'd probably be the local LockMart plant.

Is it legal to accept payment for training if you don't sign a log book?

I'm sympathetic to the monumental integration issues that might arise, but reverting to Olathe KS is clearly a kludge that should have never been written. Kind of like Foreflight defaulting to Oshkosh.

You forgot to use a dead drop. Key step.

    I’m calling the peak

One pilot on this board explained that since he lost his insurance he lost his hangar as insurance was required as part of his lease. So at least liability I assume.

    I’m calling the peak

What I find interesting is that simple planes (Cherokee fixed gear 4 seat, C-172, C-15x) are commanding a premium relative to more capable machines (think Mooney, Bonanza, Arrow). I wonder how much this is driven by insurance? We've got another thread running on 75 year olds and insurance. And...

    2024 Goals

CP-MES. Tailwheel endorsement. Fly more than 2023 (should be easy since 2023 was only 13.9). IPC in the club twin.

    2023 aviation goals

Hmmm. CP-SES, yes. (And it was a ball!) But only 13.9 hours total all year. Mostly in January. No twin time. Gotta get motivated.
