Cold Start Issues, Loss of EGT

If the Alcor TFP is working, it must be lead fouled valves. It's specifically to remove lead deposits on valves, rings, etc.

Cold Start Issues, Loss of EGT

I’ve heard about such things but I’m no aircraft mechanic. I just posed the questions based on first principles. What does your mechanic think? This may be a real pain to find because it’s brief and intermittent.

Cold Start Issues, Loss of EGT

The #2 cylinder is not firing for a few seconds and the EGT is telling you the cylinder is not firing. Why is it not? Spark, fuel, air and compression are all it needs. So which is it? Moved plugs, didn’t help. Switched mags, didn’t change. So spark seems ok. Cleaned injectors and that also...

I hope none of you were waiting for the Apple electric car...

That would take one heck of a yoke mount...

    2024 Goals

It's a blast isn't it? I think it may be the most fun I've had in an airplane!

    Barrier Speed

That's what I'm trained to do. So clearly you pass through this barrier speed on your way to Vx, but I'm still kind of curious what the value of publishing this specific number is?

    Barrier Speed

So, does it matter how far away the 50 ft obstacle is? Seems you'd want to get to Vx as soon as you can then climb until clear of any obstacles?

    Barrier Speed

I’m in process of knocking off some rust and getting an IPC. I ran across something I’ve never heard of and it doesn’t make sense to me. CFI said he couldn’t explain but Cessna has it in their POH (which he showed me). Barrier speed. It’s a column in the takeoff performance tables for a P model...

    Happy Holiday, POA!

Indeed! I've got an HP-16C (programmers calculator based on the same platform) that I bought ~1985. Still works just fine.

    What's For Dinner?

Last night was Sonny’s Barbeque. But we use a cookbook (old school, I know) called the 5 O’Clock Grill quite a bit. I recommend it.

    Henning gone west

CAVU Henning. I had a few exchanges (all pleasant) with him on the red board before here. He was a character for sure.

Garmin will continue to support GNS-4XX/5XX for years to come

I've always wondered what the technical justification for not making the new Garmin units plug compatible with the old? Obviously Avidyne managed. I realize the 530 doesn't have a form compatible replacement but the 430 does. I can imagine many marketing, perhaps borderline nefarious reasons...

    Amelia Earhart’s Long-Lost Plane Found?

It's not TIGHAR publishing. If this pans out, it's then end of TIGHAR's huckstering fundraising.
