My first bike when I bought it in 2008. It was between my freshman and sophomore years in college - Honda VT750 Aero. I bought it because I thought it was pretty, got a great deal on it, and a ton of my older friends who rode said a Shadow was the perfect bike to learn on. They weren't wrong...

    Motorcycle Rant

As an avid rider, I'll respond to these one by one. Judging by your post you don't ride, so telling a motorcyclist what to do when riding their bike is the equivalent of your non-pilot friends telling you how to fly. You're not gonna agree with me, so don't ban me bro.

What plane should you buy? Here ya go

Freaking Mike Patey will buy it, put giant tires on it with some obnoxious engine and name it something like "MUSK-y"

Get the tank wrapped. For something that size it wouldn't be too expensive and it would be a whole lot easier. Plus the quality and protection for the metal of OEM paint is better than an aftermarket or garage job, and I say this as an avid DIY-er.

The GS is a dual sport, so more of a multi-terrain touring bike. It's definitely not a "dirt bike," in that it is designed to do harsh off-pavement duty. I'd also be interested in seeing failure numbers for the paralever suspension, since my understanding is that there were some teething...

Triumphs don't leak. They mark their territory to scare the Harleys away. I'm still at a point where I want that few percent more power transfer.

Having ridden both, I kind of prefer the chain and sprocket setup, but I think it is a prejudice type thing. My Honda handled well and was shaft drive. My biggest complaint was that I had a seal failure and it was a rather expensive repair. I like the simplicity of the chain and sprocket, and...

How much will airplane prices drop in 2020?

Y'know, one thing I will say was that a search on here a few months back was quite the eye opener - I found a thread about asking for purchase advice and one of the bits of advice given to the OP in the thread was "if you are considering buying an airplane and can't afford to pay cash for the...

Sorry I didn't read all of the pages. Didn't mean to re-state what you were getting at, my bad.

How much will airplane prices drop in 2020?

I was in college during the '09-is recession. My financial prof opened each class with a discussion of news, and market news was (surprise!) one of his favorite topics for us to bring up. One of my classmates brought up something about seeing a new megayacht and being surprised that someone...

Motorcycle clothing has a couple properties. It's designed to be abrasion resistant. That's the big one. That's why riding jeans cost $200 - $300 and Levi's cost $60. I have one pair of actual "riding jeans." They have kevlar in them. I also have riding leathers that once again, are...

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Sometimes it's those people that we only have passing interactions with that really make a place or experience. The recent spate of GA accidents has prompted me to start reading The Killing Zone, because I'm right in the middle of it with around 180 hours.

The track looks pretty normal for a departure from 1H0. He went right over the airport I fly out of and that 1200 foot reading is about right to stay clear of the STL shelf. Basically you can start a climb once you get a little bit north of the river. There is one controller on STL approach...

Get a bike now while you can. I got my dad back into riding after 40 years off. He said buying his new bike and strapping a helmet on again are some of his best decisions he's made lately. Plus we can ride together, which is really cool.

I'd heard rumors of the failure. Honestly structural failure and in flight fire are my two biggest fears in GA airplanes.

Bearhawks are so cool. When I've sat down and looked at everything I'd really want to do with an airplane I keep coming back to the Patrol or an RV.

That's a good bike, man. I think you'll be very happy with it! And I'm with @Half Fast that we need to do a POA ride. Seeing as how I'm in STL, he's in FL, I know we have someone here from TN... Deal's Gap might be a great ride.

It’s not unusual to have one or two year old new stock at dealerships. Plus 50 hp is plenty for a bike, especially for a first bike. Bike engine specs look puny until you ride them. A 50-60 hp bike can be fast. Most reviews I have read about those have been positive. Like others here said they...
