Haven’t had the opportunity try FF again (wouldn’t open maps in flight with iOS 12); however, the horizon Stratus app is still DOA. Went ahead and downloaded iOS 12.0.1 last night too, but still inop. A manager at APPAREO has verified this on his iPad mini. My issues are on an iPhone 6.

No, he lowered gear and safely landed on hwy, but had to go off the road into the ditch to avoid a car. Sheared off the gear and crunched the left wing on a road sign. Trailered it about 1/2 a mile from house.

Just like the plane, determine pitch/power/configuration and trim settings for your favorite sim aircraft for enroute and approach profiles. For instance, I prefer to use the FSX Baron as it most closely resembles my Twinkie. I know that -1.9 deg trim and 20” will give me 160kts in cruise...

With iOS 12 on my iPhone 6, FF wouldn’t open any maps in-flight (works fine on the ground). As mentioned earlier, I can’t even get the Horizon Stratus App to open.

Lost this one yesterday. Engine trouble taking off from KMEI, couldn’t make it back, put it down on Hwy 45. Initial reports indicate gear sheared off, but no one injured. Looks like pilot did a good job...

A new Tempest Tornado is in the mail. Hopefully this one will give me a little more life than the last two!

Been communicating with the engineering team at APPAREO. Apparently I’m the first person that they’ve talked with directly that has had issues. Hopefully they’ll come up with a patch soon to fix the app.

I really like CHA too. It’s been a frequent stop flying back and forth to NC. They usually bring out a red rug and park me right in front of their doors! They’ll even send you a “thank you for choosing us” card in the mail a few weeks later. Great place, nice FBO, easy in/out, and good people.

Heck yes I do! Although my personal limits currently have me operating out of fields that I can afford to be 5-10 mph fast in the flare. But first I’ve got to figure out why I only got 200 hrs out of two pumps. Guess I’m going to just spring for one of those Tempest Tornado’s (new) and hope...
