Yep, I live on about a 2 acre lot. The front 2/3 is all flat with no obstacles, except a hill along the road. I told my wife that beginning this summer, I’ll continue to cut along the road/hill, but our son was doing the rest. She’s not happy about it, but she doesn’t cut the grass either...

My plane was on a tie down last night at McKinney (TKI). The FBO told me they haven’t received any word of damaged planes there. That storm this morning was wicked! My wife and I were in a hotel on the 4th floor and besides the thunder, the rain and wind were torrential.

Is getting a parking/camping spot difficult at any point in the week? My wife gave me the go ahead to take my son this year in our plane. Been 3 times, but they’ve always parked my jet (military) in the plaza and we stayed in the dorms. So not familiar with doing it this way.

From what we’ve read, it seems you really can’t go wrong with anywhere on the north side of DFW. Grape vine might be a little close to the end of DFW’s runways though. We lived under the traffic pattern at a military field and the noise was just too much.

Had a comm board issue come up on mine. Swapping it into a known good airplane confirmed it was the unit (vs a wiring or antenna issue). Finally bit the bullet and sent it in to Garmin in February. Comm board, screen, and internal battery were all replaced, which softened the hit a little bit.
