As I understand it, it can do both.

    EI CGR-30P and -30C in PA-30

those look good! Can you share what you have on your secondary page? I don’t need TIT and am actually struggling to fill up all of the positions, lol.

    EI CGR-30P and -30C in PA-30

that’s a good point. This setup was recommended by someone else too (I think he may have even stuck with the stock fuel senders), but seems like a way to save a few bucks as the C won’t be providing much additional, necessary info. It’s mostly just needed to fulfill the tank indicator requirement.

    EI CGR-30P and -30C in PA-30

On second thought, I may just use volts on both -P‘S to monitor each engine’s alternator. I already have an amp gauge that monitors total amps.

    EI CGR-30P and -30C in PA-30

Looking to install the EI CGR-30Ps and C in my Twin Comanche. I’m trying to get my worksheets completed to order but struggling a little with trying to decide which functions to put where. For instance, I’ve heard the fuel total functions may not work well with the “resistive sensors” that...

    GTX 345 Failure

Had similar issue back in November. First flight it was intermittent. Second flight was a complete failure. The unit had failed, so it was returned to Garmin for a warranty repair.

    ForeFlight ICAO Flight Plan Issue

John went in and hooked me up in FF. Much appreciated!

    ForeFlight ICAO Flight Plan Issue

john, I confirmed that this code was entered accurately and it was. It’s worked fine until now.

    ForeFlight ICAO Flight Plan Issue

Coming back to this after doing some reading. Apparently the GTX-345 isn’t “DO-260” compliant, so deleting that from the SUR option eliminated the error message. I’m guessing something has changed as I know I’ve filed ICAO before with no error. It’ll probably be an issue for someone that...

    ForeFlight ICAO Flight Plan Issue

This very likely isn’t an issue with ForeFlight and is most likely an issue with my setup. I’ve been filing with FF for years and made the switch to using the ICAO format a few months ago due to constant feedback from FF indicating that’s the method I need to be using. So I read everything I...

    Garmin Database Updating Problems

That actually makes more sense. I briefly looked at how to get the serial number from the card instead of the unit. If it’s tied to the card and not the unit, then I can’t see how they could restrict you from moving the cards to different units? Of course the data stays on the card, so it’s...

    Garmin Database Updating Problems

Ended up calling customer support today. Apparently, with the Boeing purchase, they are moving to a new website and new database purchases aren’t currently supported. Functionality will be enabled at a later date. It also appears they too will be enabling serialized database cards that won’t...

Matt guthmiller videos make me nervous

Can’t argue with that. I retire in a year and am hopeful my schedule will be much more predictable after that and I can then better take advantage of my plane’s utility.

Matt guthmiller videos make me nervous

Yeah, the visit to Russia was over the top, rushed, and well-outside of my comfort threshold; however, that’s the only one that really stands out in my mind. I’ve watched many (most?) of his videos and am supremely jealous at the utility he gets out of his plane. I’ve owned my plane almost 5...

    Which do you choose?

I think that could change the scenario a little. If either one was given to me to do as I please, I’d choose the -172. However, if performing instruction with it was a requirement for owning it, I’d choose the Archer. I’m more comfortable in the low wing, but the older I get, the more I see...

    Garmin Database Updating Problems

Out of curiosity, has anyone attempted to renew/purchase a new database subscription through Jeppesen lately? It looks like they've changed their website and now I can't find where to select the database options.

    Garmin Database Updating Problems

Yes, you can move the database card from one unit to another....at least with the Jeppesen updates. I have a 530W and 430W, but only purchase a subscription for one unit. Each update cycle, I pull the latest expired card out and install it in my 430, then update the other card and install in my...

Finally , NTSB Returned my Video

Having not seen the video and under the circumstances (it was a twin, correct? And I think you elected to pull the other to idle vs attempt to fly out of it?), I would think there might be some educational opportunity for those of us that fly twins. If you feel up to it, the Air Safety...

    "Jet Fighter" or "Fighter Jet"?

Well see, where I am, we often use the phrase “jet fighters.” However...you’re going to love this...we’re usually talking about the pilots! Example: when aircraft are assigned to the schedule, the duty may say “jet fighters, you can walk.” It’s a phrase of endearment...
