    DIY Question - small project.

I bet "eff it" are the most common words uttered before the Sawzall comes out. Tim

    Vinyl records

Thank you. I HATE vinyl records. Once years ago when I went to record a virgin disk onto reel-to-reel tape (a record that I had coveted for a long time) and heard all the clicks, pops, scratches, etc. I literally ripped my (Dual) turntable off its shelf (not being very gentle) and jammed it...

    200 amp landing lights

No apology necessary--I guess it wasn't much of a joke. I thought it was fairly plain that the poster meant watts, or at least not 200 amps. I pictured some guy with a Cub out in the middle of nowhere trying to weld a busted frame back together by shining his landing light on it. Tim

    200 amp landing lights

Oh no! You mean I'm the one who you think has confirmed the 200A statement? That was meant to be a joke. Tim

Pilot Zhuang Qu learns the importance of that big watch he's wearing

Yes--fuel thieves once almost drained one of my Cherokee 140 tanks, leaving the other nearly full. The imbalance is crazy obvious. Tim

Famous (and infamous) people.. who are pilots

As it happens, my wife (a dive instructor at the time) was in the water nearby and actually heard the impact. Sound travels very well in water. Tim

    Obscure laws

Did you know that in Peoria it is illegal to stab midgets riding streetcars after dark on Tuesdays or Thursdays? Why yes, as a matter of fact I did--assault with a deadly weapon is illegal virtually everywhere all the time. Tim

Wow! Have to be careful with medications

Have to be cautious these days. In 2020 doctors are prescribing epic amounts of Damitol, which can help with covid/political/faa anxiety. The FAA position on this medication is not clear, but they expect to have fewer issues with it in 2021. Personally, I think they're dreaming. Tim

    Difference of opinion Take 2

So what do you think the clunk was? The impulse coupling has already been ruled out (and to me, that's more of a "click" than a "clunk" anyway). I can't imagine anything inside an engine making a clunking sound that would not cause the engine to grenade immediately if/when it was started. Tim

4 hour pilot with stupid questions

On a couple of occasions before I got my hangar and was out in the tie-downs, I had gas stolen out of my Cherokee 140. I was angry, of course, but glad the punks didn't steal the gas caps--400 bucks apiece at the time. I hope the 100LL destroyed their catalytic converters. Tim

    Why did Cessna do this?

Also works on drums: https://rtom.com/moongel-damper-pad I don't know, though, why everyone seems to think moistening their drums rather than damping them is a good idea. Tim

    Possibly new DB Cooper information

DB Cooper highjacked the airliner on November 11, 1971, and Elvis died on August 8, 1977. Coincidence? I think not. Tim

    Worlds first airplane for sale.

World's first POWERED airplane. It's well-known that Ramses II enjoyed glider flights from the top of the Great Pyramid. Tim
