    T-Bone

Current owner is a great guy who has taken fantastic care of that airplane. Anyone who is looking for a TBone should be looking at this one.

Anybody know anything about mini-splits? [NA]

Very happy with the 18k BTU Mr. Cool that I installed in my garage. Super easy to install, works great.

Part 141 School's fleet blown off the ramp. Is FBO to blame?

The assertion in various forums, including the local pilots Facebook group, is that the FBO removed the aircraft from the hangar either the night prior or the morning of to make room to setup a fashion show. I've not seen anyone, locally or otherwise, suggest that the flight school itself moved...

Part 141 School's fleet blown off the ramp. Is FBO to blame?

KC airports, unfortunately, has been hit by several microbursts over the years. OJC has been hit twice - early 2000s and then again around 5 years ago. Not sure about MKC in 2006, though.

    Dear Signature Flight Support...

The City owns the entire airport. Signature holds a "master lease" for nearly the entire airport property, save for a few small areas (Atlantic being one of them). Signature subleases the portion of the airport that it does not use for its own operations to a variety of other tenants. At...

    Dear Signature Flight Support...

This whole mess is less about Signature (which, to be clear, I do not like and generally avoid doing business with) and more about a poorly run operation that is an absolute eyesore on the entire Downtown airport in KC (where I keep a plane). Outside, the Museum looks like a poorly-kept...

Airport FBO bulletin boards - gone or empty

Both of the airports I fly out of have them, but they almost never have anything useful on them. Usually very "stale."

    Enterprise FBO Program

I review the quote/invoice, and I've never been charged anything other than the daily rate + normal taxes. I've been charged one-way "drop" fees in the past for one-way rentals, and it's always a separate line-item in the quote/invoice. And in my experience the daily rate w/ Enterprise is...

    Enterprise FBO Program

Here's a link to Enterprise's GA rental website. I've never paid a fee for Enterprise to drop at one of the airports that show up when you search. Super convenient. https://legacy.enterprise.com/car_rental/deeplinkmap.do?bid=022&icid=FBOdualBrand.button.-_-bookOtherFBO-_-ENUS.NULL

FAA Demand Letter - What to do?

The continuation of this thread is exactly why OP really needed some level of "professional" advice before responding to the FAA. Trying to read between the lines, trying to respond to things something thinks are "implied" in the letter, making assumptions, etc. This is exactly how people get...

FAA Demand Letter - What to do?

In the future, I'd strongly recommend not firing off random letters to the FAA regarding certificates or medicals without first consulting with someone (ideally a lawyer, but at the very least, get come opinions from here). What you may think is just an innocent "explanation" may be interpreted...

Are engine monitor sensors consumable items?

The short answer is yes. EGT probes probably moreso than CHT (the EGT probes live a really hard life), but you're gonna have to replace probes from time to time as they all live in a pretty harsh space. 10 years is a pretty good run, IMHO, for the probes.

    Oil Pressure Anomaly (Lycoming)

I change my own oil and both the suction screen and the main oil screen come out and get cleaned every time. It was out about 20hrs ago. But it’ll come out again shortly in connection with this issue. Indicators are EI CGR-30P engine monitors with digital transducers. Given what I’m seeing, an...

    Oil Pressure Anomaly (Lycoming)

I'm experiencing an odd oil pressure issue with my Lycoming GO435-powered Twin Bonanza. Oil pressure specs are 65-85 psi for normal operating range. Left engine oil pressure is fine on start (mid-90s on cold start, quickly comes down to mid-80s), good on runup (high 70s to low 80s depending on...

    Refresh a PIPER CHEROKEE 140

This kind of thing makes zero financial sense unless you're an A&P yourself (or very mechanically inclined and have an A&P willing to supervise your work). If you're paying an LA-area A&P $100+ per hour to perform all of the tasks to bring a project plane up to speed, I'd at least double the...

G5 airspeed indicator setup mph / knots

Totally fair point. Obviously, everyone has to determine for themselves what they consider trivial and what their risk tolerance is. If I were flying for a living, I'd like have a much smaller list of things I consider trivial given my own personal risk tolerance (get dinged by the FAA...

G5 airspeed indicator setup mph / knots

Let's be realistic - if you get busted by the FAA (or anyone else for that matter) because your G5 ASI is set to MPH vs KTS, you were gonna get busted for SOMETHING anyway (they're really, really fishing at that point). It's such a trivial issue that virtually nobody is ever going to notice...

    Aircraft Financing Company Recomendations

For $70k, Lighstream is the way. Pretty short online application, nearly instant approval (even on a Saturday), no questions about the airplane, no lien on the airplane, and they ACH/wire funds into your bank account same day or next. The traditional aircraft lenders will make you jump...

Words matter...need internet lawyer keyboard warrior interpretation.

The permit rules don't exist to protect the homeowner; they exist to protect either guests or the next person that buys the house from shoddy work that wouldn't be obvious to an untrained eye. Somewhat like the FARs, which don't care much if a pilot wants to do something stupid to kill...
