Older low time A&P wants to get active again

He can't exercise A&P privileges until he gets a replacement certificate. Can do that on-line. It's $2. If he still has SSN on certificate, get that removed as well. FAA says 4-6 weeks but you may as well double those numbers. Once he receives the certificate in the mail he can get to work.

The Saga of Peggy: How Not to Get the Annual Did.

I somewhat agree with that. However, in every field there's always a politician that manages to inflate his credibility to a level higher than what was earned. Don't be swooned by names and titles.

The Saga of Peggy: How Not to Get the Annual Did.

All you're paying for is a name and the results are rarely better than anywhere else.

They don't call it an "annual" for nothing!

A&P schools that offer a weekend program in Michigan or Ohio?

The 147 min is 1900 hrs. Where I went to A&P School the curriculum was 1950 hrs.(Seen some as high as 2100hr). It took me 2 yrs but I had a more than normal absences and had to make up the time I missed. Part 147 allows a max of 8 hrs/day, 6 days/wk, or 40 hrs per week of instruction so 1900 /...

Do You Think Airlines Will Ever Pay For Training?

Don't know about the others but some hospitals will pay off student loans for a Dr.

Do You Think Airlines Will Ever Pay For Training?

Ah, so that explains why I once flew a regional plane from Montreal to Atlanta (~1100 miles) to Eluthera (~750 miles) to Atlanta (~750 miles) then got on a mainline A321 to DH to Birmingham (~140 miles), lol. Oh don't worry. It's real and they are trying to address it. It's almost comical. When...

    Identifying NAVaids?

Absolutely. Two runways, one piece of pavement, ILS in each direction, one ILS frequency, two different ID's depending on which one the controlling facility has selected. Have also had equipment that displays the ID phonetically show the wrong ID even though the Morse code was identifying the...

Upgrading to a better aircraft a bad thing?

A 150 will be one unexpected item away from breaking your budget. It doesn't have to be a $30k item, an unexpected $4000 bill is going to break you. You'll need to find a mech who will work with you to keep the plane flying. You might also look for a like minded person who would be interested in...

Do You Think Airlines Will Ever Pay For Training?

Because you're a worthless bag of meat to an airline until you can hold some kind of ATP certificate.

Plane purchase without a In person inspection

I've bought planes sight unseen. One was at auction. Can always figure out what's wrong with it when you get it home.

There's such thing as too many Airframe hours right?

So does that mean at some point expensive maintenance and periodic inspections can be discontinued? If those task no longer ensure integrity of the aircraft, they can be dropped and we just rely on luck, correct?

There's such thing as too many Airframe hours right?

A lot more than you can put on it. Just think, you can buy that plane, fly it 350 hrs over the next yr (~1 hr every day) then sell it for the same amount (or more) unless the the used market collapses. The added time is meaningless at this point.

    Biannual flight review...

Tell the instructor you want a tailwheel endorsement and a flight review. I'm reasonably confident the instructor can figure out how to integrate those two task.

China Airlines goes down with 132 souls on board

Your airplane doesn't know if it's in a dive or not. All it knows is velocity is increasing and it will try to return to it's last trimmed airspeed - it can accomplish this only if the wings are somewhere close to level.
