I think the issue here is that some of these accidents are not just biting CFIs, but some really seasoned pilots. Wasn't there one recently where the DPE was one of those involved?

Well I think it's more than that. It goes back to her crossing intersections without stopping. I just don't really think she cared to pay attention and that is dangerous especially around another airport. She rather fiddle around with the gps than to fly a normal heading. Yours was much better.

True but she had 400hrs..also she had one ipad w FF, two garmin products that 430 and another gps I saw as well, a magnetic compass, a heading indicator and at least one iphone (android users don't make these mistakes) lol.
