Finally stopped thinking - bought my first plane!

Thank you! It has the Hartzel with the 60 month AD that I'll need to get addressed this winter at annual (not due until August, but I"m not taking the plane down for scheduled MX in the summer in Seattle!) it also has the 470 cylinders which are supposed to be better for cooling. I have...

Finally stopped thinking - bought my first plane!

Many thanks to Ted, Barret and others. After 8 years of thinking about buying a plane, I'm finally an owner! I got my PPL about 8 years ago and have enjoyed flying in a great equity club that has two 172s and a 182 and a great membership. I one day want to have a twin with more carrying space...

I know I'll regret asking, but why?

IH Scout fans: What do you think of the new one?

PS, yes. My travelall has 4 tanks, totalling 70 gallons! It's far more complex than the Bonanza!

IH Scout fans: What do you think of the new one?

You've touched my heart bringing flying and IH's together! I'm a big IH fan. I have a 1971 Travelall that has a transplanted IH 446 gas motor and a 5 speed in it that I drive around/camp in. I also have a 1973 Scout 2 with a midly built 392 that is almost done with a frame off restoration...

    I’m calling the peak

It will be interesting to see if the top end (as defined earlier), say >200K pistons slow down while the bottom end potentially increases, both from people buying less than they might have (me) and potential market affects from the MOSAIC rule changes that might make more small, legacy pistons...

What plane would you buy in my situation?

I didn’t see a budget but I think a debonair might be good, especially if you do your ifr in it as part of your transition training. What total weight of people and bags do you need to carry now vs 5 years from now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

THank you. Researching and ordered Larry Ball's book. Hard not to talk yourself into an S35 for better CG and a 520, but then again, you're back at 90 grand or more instead of staying at ~50k ish.

That D looks pretty good, thanks for sharing. There’s another nice D near me for about the same$. And a nice C on beechtalk for 45. The Comanche 180 they have is nice too, but motor is past tbo so a bit of risk there. I need to dig up some W&B sheets for these early ones to see if I can have...
