    Insurance broker recommendations?

Fly a hundred hours with them, updating experience quarterly, then shop after the first year. It’s what I’ll do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Balancing Moderation for a Thriving Community

I do love the forum but miss henning, mascard, Denver pilot and others who contributed a lot of great food for thought and made it interesting. I appreciate we have several newer posters bringing new perspectives too! I just wish we had some of the old too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

State (VT) owned hangar ground leases doubled overnight. What's up with that?

No, it's not OK. But, the government does arbitrary and capricious stuff all the time, and there is no rule of law. So, ask yourself, am I willing to lose my hangar over principle, or do I just want to keep my hangar, and accept that even though it's illegal and wrong that they're changing it...

Finally stopped thinking - bought my first plane!

It's just old and extra weight. I have it (it's the original, I believe). I'll see how loud it is without it and see if I want to put new carpet in the future budget or not. For now, I'm just trying to get it set up so I can start flying it and get some time with her before i consider more...

Congratulations! What an AMAZINGLY capable plane for a family! I like the 6/Toga/Lance a lot for being able to load folks up and go have fun!

Is it normal for a student pilot to feel sad like this?

In addition to the points above. Consider that you may want to rethink how you think. Instead of only feeling good if you have mastery, have mastery as your goal, but approach flying as something that you can never perfect, the goal is to always be safe and to work to get better and never stop...

You and me both! I hope to get her moved to her new home Saturday or Sunday and then I can move the air compressor, some extra tools, a couple of lawn chairs, a folding table, my battery maintainer, some cleaning supplies, etc. Then I can take some pictures, look at the seat adjustment, and...

I'll check when I finally get time to crawl around my plane, but I think mine are mounted on the ceiling over the seats.

    So I bought a C182 - what now?

Congrats fellow new owner! The club I'm exiting has a 182 and it was always a really nice airplane to fly. Good useful load, good speed, simple to manage. The only two "tricks" I know of in the 182 is 1, don't PLOP the nose on the runway when landing, work your technique to gently settle it...

Finally stopped thinking - bought my first plane!

Thank you for the tip. I'm looking into it and it seems like it'll work with GP. This would really keep the cockpit tidier and be much more "preflight and go" vs having to hook up a bunch of junk evertime I want to fly. I'm going to talk to my IA about this and see if it's something we can...

Barret, if you weren’t already, you’re now my hero! I’ll try that when I get it to my hangar, hopefully this weekend, which would allow me to start my lessons. Yes it does have the shoulder belts, alternator, and remote oil filter upgrades! [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

do you know if it's only Foreflight, or can I keep using Garmin pilot? Might be worth the upgrade at annual to get stuff off the dash and the admittedly tight cockpit

will that cast to your ipad like the the Avidyne will? How does the buttonology compare to the GNS430 (which I hate)? I really need to think about that long term, if I ever do IR rating, but for now, I'm VFR only.

Thanks, I found a well reviewed Stratux+battery for $225 on fleabay and that seems very fair. The traffic under the SEA bravo shelf where I fly out can be busy and I really like the extra situational awareness.

T Thank you!!!!!! I appreciate the help on insurance, that, MX (found the IA who's done it for 10 years) and the hangar were all worrying me and with help from you and others, I'm getting all that stuff sorted, so I can jut go fly when I see a sunbreak for a couple hours! You truly helped...
