    Phantom Canyon crash

That’s tough. Hard on passengers as they probably to see/feel that a crash was coming as they ran out of air underneath them

Our favorite pilot demonstrates another unusual attitude

Lucky that was a thin layer. Teachable example of how quickly a plane can get away from you if you aren’t prepared/trained/proficient. Pulling this stunt with the “secondary min” video would have resulted in a smoking hole. Will give credit for putting out the video and at least showing the...

    Mounjaro

They approved ozempic and wegovy right around the one year mark. mounjaro is slightly different dual mech of action. Pretty cool drug. When approved for weight loss it is going to blow the market up. Rivals weight loss surgery.

    POA Aviation Media Forum Sucks

I posted a video of a neat glider tow recently. I don’t do yT. But that’s the only way you can post a vid here. I thought it was interesting enough to post. I don’t rely on yT clicks. Made me feel dirty that my video got moved if we could post a fun vid without requiring to to be through...

    What Are You Reading?

Recently finished first two books of the Master and Commander series by Patrick O’Brien. Taking a break from that series to read Don Quixote. About half way through. Bit slower of a read but quite entertaining.

Getting back in the air after a refusal to test

I had a patient come in the other day as a new patient. Wanted me to continue their stimulant rx. Part of that for me is review of old records and a urine drug which she was cool with. So she’s in the bathroom for like 20 min to come out with a 50F sample of water and bolts. Oh well.

Getting back in the air after a refusal to test

What were the reasons for the test in the first place?? Just a standard new employer test? Work incident required test? Got pulled over and law enforcement test? Test at AME? Circumstances surrounding need for testing will dictate a lot I imagine. And why the quotes??? You either refused or you...

    Help me understand Turbo

Something to think about is where you live and will be flying. I live in northeast so I don’t have to deal with topping mountains or high elevation take offs with really high DA where the turbo would help. If I lived in the west with higher elevations I think it would be much nicer to have.

    Fire bombers in our hangar

They will be based here until trees get leaves. Right now risk of brush and forest fires very high. They’ve had a busy year already. Some days running all day. Fun to watch. They taxi into the tanker area and fill up without even shutting down then right back up.

182 pulling glider out of our local field.

CAP plane towed a glider out of our field KHZL recently. Was pretty cool to see. We don’t have glider ops here. Was brought here for service on a trailer but they towed it home to VT.

Tandem jump medical vs pilot medical

I had a patient in recently. He is a tandem Jump instructor. He was new to me. I noticed that he got an FAA medical from the same AME that I’ve used in the past. when I asked him about it, it sounds like he has the same requirements for a class three medical for a pilot. Generally for my pilot...

    Cirrus and 3 small children

This is the way. I have had a hard time getting three small kids getting along in a suburban!!! Might be able to- sure. Should you - probably not. I would thing small kids that close to each other will potentially be quite distracting to the pilot
