Should I let this one go?

No, it was the one with the "E" that sounds like the space ship in Star Trek ...

    Oshkosh and Covid

Numbers are WAY higher than being reported. I'm in the medical field and half of the offices are out infected right now ... mild symptoms usually headache and sinus congestion with sore throat sometimes ... Probably would have gotten it staying home as well ...

Should I let this one go?

I check them out close also ... but on a trip to Columbus Ohio to pick up the RV, the parking deck was dark and I didn't see a small chip in the windshield (passenger side high not in wiper path). I drove an hour down to West Virginia in heavy rain and no traffic. Upon turning it in, they...

    Strange Approach into KELP

I live here in El Paso. If KELP is "switching runways" it normally requires using the LOA (Letter of Agreement) with Juarez Mexico to allow over-flight or penetration of their airspace (which is normal when Runways 8R and 4 are in use. If flightaware is accurate, it seems that they didn't need...

How much to trust medical professionals

Was pointing out that a "perfect storm" of exams demonstrating their absolute weaknesses at the same time can occur. We did the angio for the exact reasons you state, but being in the medical imaging field, our facility straightens out a LOT of bad calls ... problem is, we're ultrasound only...

How much to trust medical professionals

I'm medical, but a different observation: My wife got talked into an EKG, it came back "abnormal" ... second EKG indicated the same, but it was not a double blind (they were aware of the first abnormal). Echocardiogram inconclusive ... A Nuc Med stress test was ordered, but the one at rest...

    Oshkosh 2022 picture thread

Been flying since 2006 since, but never thought that if I was using a lower gust lock on the rudder, the top could torque nasty. Will be running an upper gust lock at the top (AirGizmo) if I leave my plane out like this. To date with both the Tiger and now the RV, the signature card at the FBO...

What Does the FAA Have Against the Word, “Student?”

Since I'm now a "customer" and I'm always right ... can I just show up and pick up my next rating without testing?:p

Fibbed to ATC. Got Caught. Was given number to call

He should have just said he didn't have the ATIS. California to Texas flight all good ... enroute, Tuscon gets a TFR near it for a fire. ATC asks if I'm aware and I indicate it wasn't there at take off leaving California, but I appreciate the info (pre-Foreflight). Had a Texas to Glendale...

Starting engine for fuel - but not flying? (Corrosion concerns)

I refuel after flight ... also, a mechanic recommended after shutdown to pull the oil stick back an inch or three and watch the steam that exits from the dipstick tube ... that steam that escapes has water and helps, but there's still going to be some after shutdown ...

How to lean when landing at high altitude airport?

Hopefully you're at pattern altitude several miles prior to entering the pattern. Before landing check list (MIXTURE set, Throttle set, Trim Set, Prop a little later after entering the pattern). Mixture above is Pull the Red knob back until a slight stumble, if vernier type, two turns to...

Learned about wake turbulence the hard way

If you hit a "dust devil" over the runway (they're invisible there), you'll get the exact same excitement and will get at LEAST n uncommanded 45* turn from runway heading ... keep your hand on the throttle and be ready if landing after noon in the desert southwest ....
