Getting "Trapped" By AME's Refusing Fast Track

I don’t see what this has to do with getting bad advice. So, in your example about the FBO, let’s just say that are “transparent” but they are completely wrong in what they tell you. They haven’t checked the most recent details or have the correct info, yet you make a plan based upon that...

Getting "Trapped" By AME's Refusing Fast Track

That’s the issue. People are going to the Drs that the FAA has outlined as AME experts for that advice. You’re basically saying go get advice that’s “good” when the pilots/patient have zero basis for evaluating if that’s “good” advice in the first place. If it’s not, your remedy is go get an...

Getting "Trapped" By AME's Refusing Fast Track

I think the fact that there is so much confusion, misinterpretation, misinformation, misunderstanding of the entire SI process is telling in itself. When so many AMEs don’t fully understand it, that’s a sad commentary when the pilots are 100% dependent upon the AME to navigate this process...

    Please help out a dad

No arguments there. I guess it’s better than the kids trying to score adderol online and dying of fentanyl poisoning though.

    Please help out a dad

Crummy situation. I’m not surprised at all that parents, or children, are caught off guard by the ADD/ADHD pitfall. With it being so commonly “diagnosed” and with the absolute trust that most put in the medical and psychological fields, people don’t think this will present an issue that’s...

    Neuropsychological Tests

Recently underwent the full cog screen evaluation, took about 4.5 hrs. It’s a whip for sure. It’s an interesting assessment as some of it I don’t see as valuable to evaluating someone’s cognitive abilities as relates to piloting. The dual attention tests, for sure. The memory tests, yes. Fine...

    Hypothetical question for dr bruce

That’s That’s interesting. On that note, I was told that even CBD, which is not allowed by the FAA but legal, will ruin things.

    Basic Med - SI

Apologies if this has already been addressed, didn’t see after a quick search. Am I correct that after being approved for SI that you can immediately apply for basic med and operate under those privileges going forward?

    MOSAIC Update

What’s the new medical rule under MOSAIC? I think 3-6 months of 2025 before it’s enacted.

ADHD Fast Track - Still Reviewed by AMCD?

Wow, I’m so sorry. I really hope there is a faster solution vs. literally being at the bottom of a pile for a name correction. Hope you can get some help from this forum. Just another example of how anitquated the systems are at the FAA.

Ever seen anyone do aerobatics in the Aventura UL?

    Neuropsychological Tests

Are there any instances where the FAA would make you take the cogscreen twice? I took it once already, passed, but now have to undergo an "updated neuropsychological evaluation in accordance with the ADHD protocol." I have no idea where the ADHD protocol came from as that was not the reason...
