    First thoughts: Oshkosh 2017

Just looked in the camp Scholler rules and they do list a parking lot for additional vehicles and guests, so that's probably where the car will end up! My plane is old so it'll only be a 25 mile walk from Vintage.

    First thoughts: Oshkosh 2017

Is there an overnight parking lot for cars? Thinking about flying in and camping, can't fit the whole family in the plane so the wife might drive instead. EAA website says no overnight parking in their lots.

Constant speed prop - throttle first or prop first?

The phrase that stuck with me from an instructor was "Blue sky, black earth". You want to climb up? Move the blue (sky colored) knob first. You want to descend to the ground? Move the black (earth) colored knob.

    Choosing a hangar

Could you possibly build a hangar at the close airport? It wouldn't have to be one of the taj mahal hangars like some have, even just a pole building with a gravel floor and sliding barn doors..

    Post lamp bulbs?

They're definitely a smaller bulb, I have some other panel indicator bulbs that use 330's (one of those burned out on me which started this bulb adventure, and I thought I could rob a post light to take care of that one first) but the post light bulb fell straight through the 330's hole.

    Post lamp bulbs?

I did, one of them started working after swapping but I've still got one dead bulb. Its covered in red paint on the tip that looks pretty well faded and cracked, so who knows how old it is. I thought about LED's and still might try them. For now a bulb for a buck will get the light working.

    Post lamp bulbs?

Does any one know the bulb number for the small instrument post lights? I've got a couple burned out, GE 330's are just a little too large. I couldn't find a bulb number on the base of them either.

    Commercial PTS question

That's what I was thinking of doing too, all the maneuvers I can in my airplane and rent a complex for the rest. That would be nice if they'd remove the complex requirement, I've already got that endorsement.

    Commercial PTS question

Hmm.. Might be best to just ask the opinion of the DPE I'd use the next time I see him.

    Commercial PTS question

On the commercial test practical exam, most (all?) of the maneuvers have a degree of bank listed in the PTS. Can you use an day VFR only aircraft without an attitude indicator on the test? Would a tablet/handheld GPS with attitude be an acceptable substitute? Or is it find another plane with...

    Very good, thanks again guys.

    STC approved list

So here's a follow-up question. Say the aircraft is not on the STC approved list, for the G5 or Dynon. Is this where a field approval could be used, or would you have to try to get the aircraft added to the approved list?

    STC approved list

.... here I am clicking through the Garmin site for half an hour looking for that. Never thought to go to the FAA. Thanks!

    STC approved list

Is there anywhere to search to see what airframes are approved for specific STC's? I'm specifically looking for the list for the Garmin G5, all their advertising says "approved for over 500 single/twins" but nowhere can I find a list of what those 500 are.

Or get a cat of your own. A big ol' tomcat with claws, and feed your cat in the garden area. They don't like to poop where they eat.
