Anybody want to buy a nice 310?

I think a little perspective is important. These engines went 1800 hours without spark plugs, oil changes(well one), compression checks, etc. That is 1800 hours with a $30k HSI and good for another 1800 hours. Show me ANY piston twin that can do that.

Anybody want to buy a nice 310?

My guide vanes on both engines have cracks. Not uncommon, and most likely will be repairable. So far it looks like I’ll be at $25k a side for my first HSI’s. Not bad at all for 1800 hours of service. I spent the day today reviewing quotations and making calls....so far I’ve determined that...

So, first HSI’s ongoing on the Conquest. One of these collection of $200,000 in parts has a problem.... on both engines.

    Who let this guy solo?

Every time I fly into DVT I get a chuckle. When you use proper phraseology, read back clearances promptly, succinctly, and correctly you can literally feel the hugs from the tower. It is almost like they need a little break every so often from the craptastic sizzle they see all the time.

    Air Wagner..... He’s baaaaackk.

Can we have a moment of silence for those two poor GTSIO-520's that were pulling 34" in a 800 fpm climb with a rather quick transition to idle and a +2500 fpm descent?

    COVID Vaccine

I have to be cautious here, but do have some anecdotal input. We had one location where everyone was PCR tested on the same day. They were all given a health questionnaire, and given a health screening by a health care professional including temp. 100% were asymptomatic, yet we had +20%...

    Iowa derecho

Thankfully, we didn't have any damage to physical assets. There is a egg layer farm I'm aware of that sustained damage that will reach to eight figures before any business interruption. The damage to the corn crop is still being assessed, but with the record predicted carry out it is kind of a...

    NA - Farms

We generally do all our own buying in-house directly from the grain farmers. Both of those installations are around 5mm bushels storage with 10k/hr @ 5 points dryers, and yes, quality is very high on the list. As you know, some years those dryers sit nearly idle, and some years they pay for...

They’re called DDGS, Dried Distillers Grains w/ Solubles. We use them between 0%-10% of our feed diets depending upon cost and quality.

    NA - Farms

Throughout our system in Iowa and Ohio we have storage for approximately 15 million bushels of corn at our mills. We nominally purchase around 36mm bushels/yr and consume around 32mm for feed. The rest we merchandise as market conditions allow. Put another way, we use the corn from around...

    NA - Farms

We have flirted with row crop farming for our operations, but have not been able to make a viable business plan for our scope. We sure do handle a lot of grain though.

    Impending, possible meat shortages

No worries, it would take way more than that to make me leave. That indictment is about chicken meat, not eggs, and I think those guys have some problems. Mainly a story of execs changing jobs from one company to another, but keeping up conversations on pricing with old bosses to both...

    Impending, possible meat shortages

Thanks, and so do I. Per @Art Rose, I'll just get together with all the other big shots, adjust our monocles, twirl our mustaches, and sip our brandy in our gilded cages while we cackle and plot. We'll make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Muhaahaaahaaa. Or, we'll just do what farmers always do. *****...
