    Centennial - 182 Fatal

Nothing obvious; there's a self-storage facility and industrial park under the departure path, and no NOTAMs for cranes or other obstacles during that time. Looks like he impacted in a clearing north of a FedEx Ground facility. Somewhat oddly, APA Tower feeds on LiveATC give no apparent...

Person jumps from aircraft landing at RDU

    I stand corrected.

Person jumps from aircraft landing at RDU

My apologies to "cj maitland" if their intentions are true, but I suspect spamming as well. I've looked pretty hard for the RDU Tower audio and haven't found anything definitive.

Person jumps from aircraft landing at RDU

The pilot radioed the emergency to Fayetteville Approach, which would have been while en route to RDU. No communications with RDU Tower have been released to my knowledge, and LiveATC does not have any files for that time period.

To clarify, N97CX was a 1997 PA46 Malibu Mirage that was later converted to a PT6-powered JetProp DLX.

I certainly didn't intend to imply the controller was in any way at fault (and I can understand how this is a personal subject for you) but rather to note there's a fairly common instruction tower controllers frequently use to 'control over when someone actually turns base.' Based on the...

"Piper XXX, extend downwind, I'll call your base." Happens all the time at my airport and FWIW I have yet to hear a single pilot argue over it.

Sheriff's helicopter down, New Mexico, four dead, 7/16

I saw. Identities have been released, and BCSO reports the accident occurred at 7:20 pm Saturday evening. Not sure of the exact conditions at the time but late afternoon/early evening monsoonal thunderstorms have been common throughout the area for the past couple of weeks.

Sheriff's helicopter down, New Mexico, four dead, 7/16

Very sad. N911SZ was a familiar sight (and sound) over Albuquerque's North Valley every Spring when BCSO would practice bucket ops in the Rio Grande and North Diversion Channel.

New video released of Richard Russell the man who stole a Q400

To your last sentence, I'd suggest most are trying to deaden themselves without actually dying. That is something different.

    Experimental down in Cheyenne Wy

Per LiveATC communications, the pilot reported an engine failure approximately four miles south of the airport and, after turning back toward the airport, said he was going to try to land in a field. His last communication soon after was, "I am on fire ... please send rescue." The crash site is...

0 time passenger lands plane (Cessna Caravan)

Definitely an "arrival" but holy cow, it looks at least as good as my first-ever landing (and probably better, if he held the centerline!)

Cessna 208B crash short of Burley Municipal Airport

A fair chance, I think, given the C208's history with ice. The accident aircraft was a 2013 model and would've been equipped with TKS.
