What do you consider life changing money

Well I could save a million dollars by retirement but that wasn’t really the point.

What do you consider life changing money

I took the question as if someone or somehow you were given/awarded money tomorrow. Of course I could earn 20k but the question wasn't how much would you have to earn to change your life.... For me 20k would pay off my car without dipping into my airplane savings so if I came across 20k...

Talk me out of the Ford Panther platform (NA, obviously)

I was going to cast a vote for any of the GM full size 3.8 V6 cars. Very reliable, good on gas, FWD for safer handling and better inclement weather traction, budget priced, and new enough to be safe. But seems you have already made a decision. Should be a good car and hope she likes it.

What do you consider life changing money

I mean 20k would certainly change my life for the better, maybe not completely life changing. 200k would certainly be life changing!

    Looking for a car

Is the at fault driver's insurance not paying for a rental?? Maybe try Turo, there are often cars on there for like $35.00 per day. Or as others have said, find something cheap on Craigslist or marketplace you can sell when the new car arrives.

    I’m calling the peak

A lot of what I am seeing are planes that were sold in 2018-20 and the sellers are still wanting 2021-2022 prices and the market isn’t there anymore.

    I’m calling the peak

Observation from the planes I have been watching. Initial listing price isn't coming down but they aren't selling either. I am seeing price drops before they disappear. Not sure if they are selling or sellers give up. Obviously fabric planes are a tough sell with lack of hangar space...

How and where to register my plane? IL or TN?

You will pay the tax where the plane is hangared. Many airports report what planes are based there to the local tax office anyway. If they try to give you a tax bill for TN just show them you have it listed with IL.

I spent a lot of time checking it out at Airventure. Very cool design that blends vintage looks with modern comforts. Cabin is much bigger than it appears. They are hoping to have folding wings and offer an enclosed canopy option. Their cost estimates thus far also seem to be really...

    C150 or C152

Lecture no, but if I make an offer or they ask why I am not interested I tell them why. The last person I spoke to went on an unprovoked rant about getting low ball offers and didn't understand why. I simply told him my concern was that the engine was nearly 3 times recommended TBO with only...

Well once again I made no mention of turning it over by hand so the devils are in the details. Running it on the starter will in fact build oil pressure and is enough rpm to sling some oil into the cylinders and on a continental will drip lubricate the cam and lifters. As I also said, this...

    C150 or C152

Well I never said anything about ground running so that's a different topic. At the end of the day if the engine is going to be sitting a few months it should be pickled. While ground running can introduce moisture it also re-applies an oil film to protect the metal. A continental's life can...

    C150 or C152

And I believe the opposite because who is going to let you pull a cylinder to inspect the internals? The manufacturer has made it easy, they assigned a life span based on their extensive testing. Sure if you want to continue to run the engine based on the data that is fine but in my book the...

    C150 or C152

And that's fine and if you priced it accordingly you are getting bonus time. My 550 is old and so far is running great but it is still a runout engine even with only 550 hours. I've also seen plenty of old engines with such severe rust pitting they cant be saved. Lycoming, Continental, Mike...

    C150 or C152

I think just about anyone in the industry disagrees with the idea an engine can sit a considerable amount of time without corrosion. Sure some get lucky but as soon as the oil film has run off the metal will start rusting anywhere there is humidity. Continentals less so due to the fact that oil...
