I'll dig back in the manual. I trimmed the airspeed and it is now within a 1-2 mph of the analog airspeed indicator. Also trimmed the OAT, matching temp to the AWOS. However, the TAS readout is still off. Sometimes it's ten mph less than the IAS others times it is just a few mph slower.

AV-30C drift without the magnetometer in our Grumman traveler was 30 degrees off after a few minutes or after clearing turns. With the magnetometer, it's great and right on the money. In my opinion they shouldn't be sold separately anymore.

I've flown it a few times, great for taking up friends and family for a Tampa tour. If coming from the east, cut across the bay on the transition, scenic shoreline south to Albert Whitted is usually a hit.

I keep a paper log and only bring it out of safe place for CFI signing and checkride. Use Myflightbook primarily. I haven't gotten around to it, but I intend to scan my paper log book and keep digital copy in a couple places. Just in case.

I've now had a chance to fly our plane with the dual AV30s and new av-mag a dozen flights. It works great and I wouldn't recommend installing AV30s without it. That said, we are having issues with the indicated airspeed and true airspeed on the AV30 used for the attitude.
