Best twin for building multi/complex time besides the Seminole

The Tecnam is neat and fun to fly. But our school makes us burp the engines in preflight and that can take about half an hour. I'm not flying this thing in the summer in Tampa heat. Is that common on rotax engines? Is that just particular to the Tecnam, or just this Tecnam? If this is the norm...

Fist time taking my son up...interesting experience

I like the little restaurant at X60, I'm glad it is still open. It's been a while since I've gone. Radio calls on some days it seems as if that part of my brain is on vacation. I fly a lot out of Zephyrhills and some weekends are a tricky bee hive with the flight schools, glider tows, and...

Best twin for building multi/complex time besides the Seminole

I'm doing multi training in a tecnam p2006 twin. And stepping up to another flight school's baron to build time. Price difference is about $55 per hour wet. I intend to build multi time by using that baron to travel far out of my normal range.

    Change of career

That's a good point and good ideas. I have been thinking about starting a quick build facility (if rules change to be more favorable for that) or working for one of the kit manufacturers.

    Change of career

My last BFR was from a retired navy guy that started flight training at age 54 after retiring from the service. He said he was aiming to fly in the airlines until they kick him out. I turn 37 in a couple weeks, and have a date with the DPE for the commercial checkride. Followed by commercial...

Any tips for 300nm Cross Country for commercial?

I flew my 300 mile last December. I planned by drawing a circle on the map, and planning trips in different directions in case of weather and then finding the best restaurant. I live in central florida so for us the question is usually "north or south?" I had made a couple long cross-countries...

I had bad experience with Craig air center but nothing but good experiences with sky harbor.

    No Polarization Sunglasses

I really want a pair of those RX flying eyes but the frames alone that I like start at $520. I will get a pair someday as a reward to myself for some milestone.

    How accommodating is Orlando ATC?

I fly from Zephyrhills down to Southeast florida coast a few times per year. Get denied clearance through bravo half the time. But there's a sliver of airspace sandwiched south of the bravo and the restricted areas. With flight following usually cold and you can go through them. When I file IFR...

    Foreflight v. iFlightPlanner v. ?

You're not the only one, I picked up a lifetime subscription of flyQ and it's my primary efb. Backed up by iflygps.

Stratus 3 won’t show traffic on both ForeFlight and Garmin pilot

I fly with a stratux. Cheapo receiver sends adsb traffic and weather just fine to my iPad running flyQ, my phone running iflygps, and my other iPad (club) running foreflight.

How liquid is a partnership / why don't I see shares for sale?

That's a great point, I'm in that transition myself. I'll keep the club membership and join or form another club type arrangement for a higher performance aircraft.

How liquid is a partnership / why don't I see shares for sale?

I'm in Tampa as well. Found a share advertised for an LLC club in a Grumman hangared at ZPH while in the break room at one of the flight schools. I'm looking to join another similarly set up club or partnership with a more capable plane. For now I'm renting. Maybe enough of us in Tampa area can...

Are there any airplanes made today with external cameras?

I remember seeing a video where an owner installed cameras inside the wheel wells of a lancair, nothing hanging in the wind. YouTuber Trent Palmer with the kitfox mounted one in the front so he could see in front during taxi, displayed on his PFD or MFD.

    Commercial, why do it?

I'm working on commercial now and after passing, I plan to stay sharp and training up (tailwheel, multi, actual IMC) until a decent job opportunity gets me out of this cubicle.

    Lightspeed Delta Zulu

The carbon monoxide module is a really good value add in my opinion. I'm waiting for sun n fun to try it on and possible discount if I like how it fits. It's also close enough to my birthday so that's how I justify pricey aviation stuff to myself (and wife!)

    Tely ACE Headset info?

Been looking at these too. As well as the Faro G3 ANR. It would be a headset for a passenger. Went on a long cross-country last weekend and my passenger complained heavily about the cheap PNR headset he used for the 6.1 hours of flying. Took it off several times for relief.
