    Katrina

There's always some of that. But this situation, if handled right, could be a model response. You're right, but thing were learned from the tsunami that the navy will put to use here. Yes, there been looting but a lot of it was to get food and water. The police are ignoring those situations...

    Katrina

I don't think that's a fair statement. We don't need money or aid we need logistical support and I read this morning it is already being offered.

    Neighborhood drug watch N/A

I got a really funny story about this We had new neighbor several years ago that had a somewhat similar "drug house" pattern. Eventually, though, they stopped by after a nasty storm to help remove fallen trees and we got to know them. Very nice couple in their early fifties. But the parked...

Female matters-Menopause, PMS and other temporary insanity

Just my opinion have followed this forum rather closely. If you do need to go on anti depressants do it under the care and diagnoses of a board certified psychiatrist and NOT your OBGY or local family doc. Not only will he or she offer you a lot better advice and monitoring but when it comes...

    Slowing down on final

I managed a couple craptacular landings this weekend (way too long). The problem was I was just too fast on final. I Cessna 172 at about 70 knots over the threshold, wind was calm, full idle, 200 MSL and it was hot. Long runways so I just sort of hung there. Any of the CFI gods on this forum...

London's top cop takes up guns

I lived in london. The police were unarmed for a reason. The police of the 1800's were so utterly corrupt and feared that the people insisted on them being unarmed. The tradition stuck. But, don't be fooled. fully armed forced where always close by. Any trouble and they came out of nowhere...

I stopped for a coffee at starbuck...and then

Yep, 44 in AVON, right at the bottom of the hill. A real death trap. The DOT had ruled the truck un-road worthy months ago. The company that owned the truck had numerous safety violation, three times the national average. Doubt they have the insurance to cover this. They have done all they...

I stopped for a coffee at starbuck...and then

Basically ya, saved by a caffein fix, although I always stop for coffee. What is amazing is the cars and bus where all at a stop light. The trucked pushed them back 60 or 70 feet. They found brake parts 3000 yards up the hill The volunteer fire department in Avon did an incredible job. Some...

    Need insight on two planes

No we don't have a complex. The club took a vote and is opposed to it. Mostly the time the insurance company wants is too much for must folks, 15 hours. The constant speed just sort of turns up on plane we find. Its not rally a much.
