I do not see an issue with it either, that said my nitrogen bottle kit has come in handy on several occasions. If you have a tig, you might find it useful as well. You might need a new regulator for your argon anyways to service a strut. An argon bottle got mixed up in our nitrogen bottles at...

My guess is that fire is the result of metal on metal friction. The combustion area on the engine is further aft. Those are the TR cascades holding the fire.

Carbon to me doesn’t itch at all. Sounds like there might be some glass in there? A new interior for the cessna is on my list. Was the cub interior raw kydex?

Carbon will weigh more thank the flimsy plastic in this application.

i’m not buying his explanation as to why the engine shut down. If that happened he should’ve seen his EGT going through the roof. It’s also my experience that the engine should continue to run just fine to a certain point. With a siezed turbo it certainly will not be creating the power though...

I second Bells advice on getting a solid sheet metal shop to evaluate. You will find A/Ps all have strengths and weaknesses. Few A/Ps I know are strong in structures unless they do/did that full time. An IA doesn't help there.

Not exactly. The underwater beacon is the size of a toilet paper tube and clamps onto the recorder. They found the beacon. The recorder itself is larger, no way for the memory card to pop out of it.

He has said the reduction drive is 1.58:1 IIRC. He has mentioned engine speed as much as 4k rpm at times. That would put the prop at 2500 rpm... right? Is the prop diameter published?

I ran into that issue when I bought mine. They gave me an absurd rate initially for the CFI, we negotiated and worked it to about $15 extra. My insurance policy covers a CFI who is training me.
