But he is replacing a data plate. I do not think B or C is a limiting factor here. We come across components often that are missing data plates. They get re-made and replaced. In our case we have good records to positively identify the installed part.

Maybe, I feel the shaft being too clean more likely. In another life we had considerable issues with strut seals failing. The fix from the oem was to sand the chrome of struts to scratch them up so they would hold some oil on the surface and lube the seal.

My former and currently airline now get them painted at KGUS. In a former life we used a vendor at QRO. A lot of parts were lost in transit to the airport. :rolleyes2:

Best tug is essentially a reassembled mobility scooter. Since you’re using 12-24V power for that I would vote for the electric linear actuator, keep it simple.

It needs a good inspection but it could be a nice project airplane. $85k appears steep compared to airworthy options though.
