Thinking about a mini split in my garage

To continue the "thinking about a..." threads... I am in the process of closing on a home with a 25x25 garage, insulated with drywall. I am thinking about adding insulation to the door and putting in a 24,000 btu mini split. For use on an as needed basis. There is a ton of space in the driveway...

    what's up with this, ladies????

They did not invest $11m, 7 years ago so they could corner the bugsmasher market. I don't want to be forced to pay for their marble floors and high ceilings on a huge publicly funded airport that does not see much traffic. The investment is nice for the bizjet crowd who needs the nice facilities...

    what's up with this, ladies????

"$26 had you just stopped there" is disingenuous, don't forget the forced purchase of 10 gal at $7/gallon. I'm guessing they net about 30 bucks on the fuel. I should have just refused the fuel and paid the fees. $41 plus a few bucks tax for a night is still expensive for an experience I was...

    what's up with this, ladies????

True, fees not disclosed is a big part of it. In this case, KLEX my only alternate would have been to try and sneak over to a dark corner of the ramp and shut down, then try to sneak out a gate somewhere. No reasonable alternates. I do have an issue with not having any other options except high...

    what's up with this, ladies????

I flew into KLEX recently... only one FBO on the field. Signature or something (one of the big chains). Its a very sleepy class C. $7/gal avgas. I asked at the desk what the tie down fee is for one night. $15 bucks she says, 10 gal fuel minimum to waive it. I said go ahead and put in 10...

Well everybody ELSE can make a left turn, why can't you???

It seems like the pilot refused one vector and the controller went out of his way to punish him, even though the pilot was doing his best to comply after refusing the initial turn. I get that NYC is busy, BTDT but this was ridiculous. I recall only one negative experience with ATC and it never...

Anyone have experience with both Bose A20 and Lightspeed Zulu3?

I own a Zulu 3 and I also have about 50 hours flying with an A20. The quality on both is exceptional. The warranty on the Zulu is something like 7 years. I like the A20 slightly more because it feels a touch lighter and less clampy. I did not like it $350 more so I bought the Zulu 3.

Getting real tired of seeing this light on, guys.

Does the alternator and regulator continue working normally when the light comes on? Saw someone on the Mooney FB group today said that the fail sensor on those plane power regulators fails (ha) all the time. Maybe you got two bad ones...

    Cylinder Overhaul

At 23-24" MP our Mooney 201's will get cyls between 380-400F in cruise if you run them at 50 ROP. Over 100 ROP or anything lean of peak that number drops to reasonable levels.. 340-360F. They are pretty tightly cowled aircraft. Open the cowl flaps and you can get the temps down, but I prefer...

Proper response to "Altitude Indicates 3000 feet"

I understand this is a rhetorical question. I'm also not a big stickler for the "any traffic please advise" thing. Its just something that people do, usually completely harmless and preceded by an aircraft type, callsign, position and intentions which is correct information to be giving over the...
