Purchasing a plane in an LLC / buy LLC?

If you buy and LLC that owns property, technically the property didn't change hands. So, perhaps no sales tax on the sale? I bought an LLC that owned a hangar, then years later sold the LLC. No tax due on the sale of the property, property ownership didn't change.

    For Sale Cockpit lights

I removed 2 cockpit lights, Spruce has a product labeled a C-4A, looks like the same thing. They are adjustable from spot to flood and dim to bright. Spruce has them for $344 each, how about that for the pair. I have never used them, they were in a wreck I bought for a project.

    Cubcrafter down on CA85.

Idiot! Why didn't they just put fuel in it and fly it off? Way faster than taking the wings off.

    Atlanta area pilot incapacitation?

A friend was telling me a story of their friend's child who is in flight training in the Atlanta area. In the story, the student pilot and her instructor heard someone on frequency asking for help, that their pilot was incapacitated. In the story, the flight instructor talked the passenger into...

    Size of hangar

Door is too small for most common planes. Hangar sounds too small for more than one plane.

    Aiplane to helicopter

It’s not $40k, unless you are horribly in coordinated. I’m doing the rotor wing add on too. Requires 30 hours for checkride, 20 of those dual. Realistically probably 35 hours will get it done. $20k should cover it, I’ve talked with a few schools and several helicopter pilots.

Tailwheel time...does it matter what its in?

I was once wanting to fly ag. I have about 1000hrs tailwheel now, C180, experimental, BT-13, Stinson Reliant, Husky, and Cub. I spoke with several operators, all but one said I'd have to load for a "year or two". I had turbine time too, that didn't matter. The only guy that said he would put me...

    180 pilots -rfi

If you last flew tailwheel 25 years ago and it was in a 140, I would bet its like starting over. I don't think 180's are hard to handle, but people wreck them with regularity. Seems like there is always at least one ground looped 180 on the salvage sites. If your vertical speed at touchdown it...

Flying low and close to houses in a rural setting

As the details slowly come out, it appears to me that the objection is a fear generated by lack of knowledge and “I just don’t like it”. Sounds like the people that pitched a fit when I put in my runway at my house. Doom and gloom, it’s going to crash into my house!

    Out-Swinging Exterior Doors

I have seen that done. It doesn't work very well. Weather sealing doesn't work, security is non-existent. I put outswinging doors in my current house due to 12" thick walls. Out swing doors are NOT common, try to find one in stock anywhere, or even a company to make one. There are...
