Not much to add for whats already been said. I do monitor Guard if I have 2 coms. Pilots in SE AK give position reports on 122.9, that is what I monitor and report on during a flight.
I lost vision in my right eye in 2020. Over the past 9 months I have been relearning how to land. I had my FR signed off after spending a several hours with a CFI relearning how to land with the loss of depth perception.
My question to other mono vision pilots is what do you do to compensate...
I us to be a at the numbers guy. A CFI commented to me one time, most of the AK pilots he gives a FR to try to touch down just past the numbers.
With the loss of sight in my right eye, my depth perception is off. Lately I aim for the 1000' mark and normally touch down just before that marker...

What about the "Sun"... Had more sunny days in the last 2 weeks than the last 2 months...:rolleyes: Can't shake the shadow that has been following me...:)
Wind on the other hand has been brutal. Lots of days gusting 30 to 40 mph..:(
