    Weird Annual Billing

I get a big discount for my additional help.... This is what I gave my IA for my last annual... But... I open up and close for the inspection and do all the servicing. He does the inspection and AD search. Complying to the AD's is separate. My reoccurring AD's are not hard to complete...

    CL-215T Fire Bomber

3 Fire Bombers came thru Juneau this weekend. They were operated by Bridger Aerospace, https://bridgeraerospace.com/ Did not talk to the flight crew but I bet they are headed North to help out with the wildfires. Looked like a very interesting aircraft.

    Dale Snodgrass crash in Idaho

I must admit many years ago I once left the control lock in and found out during the takeoff roll. I was able to remove it just before lift off. NEVER AGAIN was my thought. It only takes one time for things to go south.

    Where is everyone?

edit: Tami has never over the past 22 years ever said anything about what I have spent upkeeping the Sport. We have maintained the plane in a very responsible manner. We have taken on some big projects, some lasting 4 yo 6 months and she has never complained about the cost. When I retired we...

    Where is everyone?

I retired in February 2022 and am now on a fixed income. Just trying to stretch the dollar during the rise of inflation. Fuel prices have slowed my flying a lot. $10/gal for 100LL and a fuel burn of 8 or 9 gal/hr adds up. Lately I try to keep my flights at about an hour in duration

    Dawn Platinum trigger dish soap

Yah oil changes can be messy. I use the plastic bag the filter comes in, slide over filter and hold in place when unscrewing filter. Works pretty good. Filter and oil contained in the bag. One slip when removing it gets messy. Maybe a small petcock that could be driven into filter so you could...

Starting engine for fuel - but not flying? (Corrosion concerns)

I have no problem with taxing to a fuel pump and flying later that day. Once the engine comes to temp, any water generated during the short taxi will dissipate.

Congrats on your new plane. The 140 should be easy on the pocket book as far as maintenance goes..

    Deck stain, changing color

Well I put a 2 coats of lighter stain over the redwood stain. It did cover but you can still see a tint of the redwood stain. A darker brown stain or such would have been better I think.

    Inverter generators

I have a generator by son bought me. Not an invertor but a generator. Works fine but loud and not as light as a Honda or Yamaha. I used it mainly to preheat the Beech when I was in a tie down. I wished Matt had asked me before he bought it. I would have paid the difference in price for a Honda...
